FAQ

What is your experience with restoring art pieces?

At Brushstrokeann, we have extensive experience in restoring art pieces. We have been restoring artworks for many years and have worked on a wide range of pieces, including paintings, sculptures, and other art forms.

What techniques do you use for art restorations?

We use a variety of techniques for art restorations, depending on the type of artwork and the specific needs of the piece. Some of the techniques we use include cleaning, repairing, and retouching the artwork. We always use the most appropriate and effective techniques to ensure the best possible outcome for the piece.

What is your process for assessing the condition of an artwork before restoration?

Before we begin any restoration work, we carefully assess the condition of the artwork to determine the best course of action. We examine the piece for any damage or deterioration, and we also consider the age, style, and materials of the artwork. Based on this assessment, we develop a restoration plan that will address any issues and restore the artwork to its original condition.

Can you provide references or examples of previous art restorations you have completed?

Yes, we are happy to provide references and examples of our previous art restorations. We have worked on many different pieces over the years, and we have a portfolio of our work that we can share with interested clients.

What is your pricing structure for art restorations and how do you determine the cost for a project?

Our pricing structure for art restorations varies depending on the specific needs of each project. We take into account factors such as the size, age, and condition of the artwork, as well as the amount of work required to restore it. We provide a detailed estimate for each project before beginning any work, so clients always know exactly what to expect in terms of cost.

Aniko provided an excellent restoration/conservation service for a very grimy and varnish laden painting. Aniko sent through a test sample of what improvements could be possible before I went ahead. Great communication and painting finished and collected to schedule. Friendly, professional, would recommend. I have a painting with blues and greens that weren’t there previously!

I was devastated when my painting was badly scratched and gouged during building work. I couldn't bear to look at it and couldn't find a restorer. Finally we came across Aniko and entrusted it to her. She completely fulfilled that trust, cleaning and repairing the damage so that it's undetectable and the painting now glows with new light and colours. She was also much less expensive than the other quotes we had. I thoroughly recommend her, she is a miracle worker!!!

Lovely dealing with Aniko. She did a great restoration job on both a friend’s very badly damaged painting and a Lyn old family painting. Highly recommended.

Having knowingly purchased a tobacco nicotine damaged oil painting in an auction by a very well known colourful artist, we were pleasantly shocked and very happy indeed with the careful and considered conservation work that professionally restored it to how the artist would have last seen it. An outstanding job by Ann that has added huge aesthetic and monetary value to the work.

A very, very dirty original oil painting covered in years of nicotine. Now completely restored with vibrant colours and a lot of detail in composition revealed that was previously not visible. Very professional & would definitely recommend.

Aniko has cleaned, re-stretched and retouched an oil painting of mine. The restoration has brought the painting back to life and I am extremely pleased with Aniko's excellent work. Also, the cost was reasonable and was considerably less than I had been quoted elsewhere.

Aniko restored a portrait in oils which I love but which had suffered over the 110 years since it was painted. She repaired the tears, re-stretched the canvas and cleaned the picture bringing it back to life. I am delighted with the result and would definitely recommend her work. She is a real artist.
