My wife and I visited York this weekend and spent two nights at Westergate. Can't praise our fabulous hosts enough, pleasent without being intrusive. Beautiful comfortable room with a fabulous walk-in shower. Very good tasty breakfast, Hilary paying particular attention to sourcing VERY good sausages... Definitely coming back in the summer. Michael & Ricardina. Rooms: The super comfy bed and the walk in shower room. Little cakes and lots of tea options available. Food & drinks: Very good, no complaints at all.

What a gorgeous house! Beautiful garden, lovely breakfast menu and a lovely, kind and warm couple, Hilary and Paul, who make you feel very welcome. It’s a cosy home with a very relaxing living room for guests, which would be great if there was a group of couples who were travelling together. Thank you!

We stayed at Westergate House with family for a long weekend in July. Our stay was superb; we cannot fault our stay in any way at all. The food was delicious, the accommodation was of a very high standard and spotlessly clean and all in all we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. We stayed on the hottest weekend of the year (so far!) but Hilary went out of her way to ensure we were all as comfortable as possible - nothing seemed too much trouble. We had an evening meal on one evening - Hilary is certainly an exceptional cook. We also relaxed in the lounge in the evening - most welcome at the end of a long day of adventures. There is a bus stop near to Westergate House with frequent buses into York. Our stay was for a special occasion and Paul and Hilary certainly made it extra special. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay, so much so that we have booked to return later this year! We would highly recommend staying at Westergate House. Thank you to Hilary and Paul for being such wonderful hosts.
