  Laurence carried out a buildings survey on a small 2 bed bungalow for us recently. We have moved a fair bit in the past but never come across such an efficient, thorough and knowledgable surveyor. His report was far superior to any surveyors report we have ever received. He gave me time post report on the phone too, going through anything I wasn’t sure on. A very friendly, professional and approachable man who I would not hesitate to recommend to my friends and family. I believe Laurence goes above and beyond to deliver a first class service to his clients. We were able to renegotiate a much better price for our new purchase property thanks to the diligence and efforts of Laurence.

  Amazingly thorough. I am still surprised he spent a good part of the day checking the property and even invited me to look over things in person.   I have known Laurence for many years and I won't let my children buy a house without him looking at them first. He has just done a survey on an old property for one of my sons. It was worth double the amount he charged .Over 30 pages of detail and a superb job. He fully justified the many recommendations I have made over the years. You cannot ask for a better man .   Sorry to see that someone has had a bad experience with Broomfield Surveyors. We have used Laurence on many occasions over the last few years and have found him to be extremely thorough and knowledgable. We first came across Broomfield Surveyors in 2017 when we were looking at auction properties. We had wasted countless hours travelling up and down the country, viewing properties, doing desktop research, trying to crunch numbers etc. We got nowhere and it was becoming very frustrating. We decided to engage a professional and googled a company local to our next property. Laurence viewed the property on our behalf, told us it was an impressive property, gave us the figures and guided us on what our maximum bid should be (considerably higher than what we would have gone for). It turned out to be our first ever successful result and we ended up making £50,000 profit on our first ever refurb. We would have lost that opportunity had it not been for Laurence. It’s certainly true, as the reviewer says, that Laurence goes through everything with a fine-toothed comb! The “professional nit-picker” comment made me chuckle. It’s quite true! Laurence’s “nit-picking” has also saved me from making a couple of expensive mistakes in recent times. I’m just sorry he wasn’t the surveyor that our mortgage lender instructed to inspect our new home. We spent a lot of money on a full homebuyer’s report and a few significant problems were missed (including rodent activity and the presence of woodworm). Neither of these should have been difficult for a professional surveyor to spot and are going to be costly to fix. I doubt Laurence would have missed them. In the last five years, we have used Broomfield Surveyors extensively when buying and selling properties. I can honestly say that Laurence is a delightful chap and a pleasure to work with. As I said - sorry to see that someone has had an unsatisfactory experience, but I’ve always found that estate agents over-inflate the values of houses to win the business, which is why I prefer to pay for a professional RICS surveyor. Not sure if that’s what has happened here but I shall continue to wholeheartedly recommend Broomfield Surveyors because their service has always provided excellent value for money.
