My wife and l were in Stratford on Avon on Saturday when we saw a group of perhaps 20 schoolgirls approaching . A few three girls ( l would say aged 12/13) asked my wife if they could question here about why she was in Stratford . Another 3 approached me and asked similar questions . They were from Bromsgrove School . They were in uniform and all looked extremely smart . My wife is a retired teacher . She and l were both very impressed by how polite and well mannered the girls were They were on a school trip and clearly enthusiastic about it.They were all a credit to the school as we informed their teacher.

Over a friendly hockey game? Very poor show of the school

Went there for my GCSEs. Has fine sporting facilities but not great academically. Not every teacher was equipped with sufficient knowledge in their subject, and students in general aren't very bright, some of which I would passionately describe as a torture to study along. The school provides essentially no support to students who want to learn beyond the limited syllabus. So this is not the best place for your child to strive for actual academic excellence, beyond an A* in GCSEs or A levels. Whilst I do agree that academics shouldn't be everything about a school, the school fails to attend to the needs of different pupils academically. On the other hand, the school does have a beautifully build theatre and is very well equipped. The head of performing arts is a man with knowledge passion in the subject and was the saving grace for me at this school, since the academic side was dreadful. The school also admits a large amount of international pupils, which is nothing bad. However the school doesn't hold very high standards when selecting their pupils. So quite some of them aren't the brightest, and don't seem to deserve a place as opposed to a local student with better ability. Overall an alright school if you want to have an ok school life and get through the public exams. Also good for sportsmen and those with love for performing arts. But if u want to go to Oxbridge or to be actually good at a subject? This school is not for you.
