My Dad was sent there from Sandwell Hospital. He had dementia but I’d instead of being put on the dementia ward he was put on the 2nd floor which is for people with challenging behaviour which my Dad certainly didn’t have. He had a bad fall after a couple days there which resulted in a sore and very bruised back. When I visited him the day of the fall I was told he had slipped in his room. He was asking to go to bed as he was sore and uncomfortable but they had refused because the rooms are locked in the day! I insisted he went to his bed and eventually he was allowed. When I questioned the assistant manager why my Dad was on that particular Ward she agreed it was possibly not the right place for him and said “we get all the ones no one else wants.” Not only did I find that insulting but rude and unprofessional. My Dad had another fall several days later and was lying on the floor for several hours before staff found him. The place should be shut down, it is shabby, dirty. Whilst some staff are lovely there are some that clearly shouldn’t be working in care. I managed to get my Dad moved to another care home where he passed away 5 days later. I wouldn’t send an animal there and feel dreadfully for the poor vulnerable residents who don’t have a voice.

My brother was in this home for nearly 4 years. He sadly died in December 2022. There are several negative reviews, but I can only praise the carers and in particular my brother's nurse. He was loved and cared for the whole period, and he was happy. I can only thank them. I was also extremely touched when the activities team attended the funeral.

Posting this on behalf of my Mom and Uncle and Aunty who don't use internet but wanted to get the word out there on what a wonderful place Bromford Lane is. So in their own words: Our Mom was placed at Bromford Lane in Nov 2022, straight from hospital. From day one Judy & Dave put us at ease, nothing was too much trouble. The staff on floor 2 are caring, kind and just amazing. The in-house social worker always did his best to help us out and always got back to us. Mom was there for 8 weeks and it was a stressful time for us as a family, but Bromford Lane staff made it less stressful. We even took our dog, Ted in to visit which cheered everyone up. Thank you to everyone that helped care for Mom, from the bottom of our hearts. Deb & Steve Also a message from my Grandad in his own words: My Wife Ann (S11) has been been with you since 22.11.2022 (9 weeks ago tomorrow). We finally leave Bromford Assessment Ward today for Ann's new home, which is much nearer to her family. We take your generous good wishes with us. As you requested we will let you know how things go in the weeks ahead. During our time here, the family have been deeply impressed with the way, all of you, go about your daily work schedules. You have always displayed great care and complete dedication to the well being of your residents. You are a most wonderful group of staff and an excellent example of the way things should be done. Reception too, are included here. Just so, so helpful. Always. A highlight was the large 3 course Christmas Day lunch for families, that you provided for Ann, me, my Daughter and Granddaughter. Thank you. You will all, forever be in our hearts. Maybe we will meet again one day...please say 'hello' if you see us around. May we wish everyone of you, the very warmest best wishes for your future. You have been amazing to the whole family. Neville

My relative has just recently been admitted to this place. So I was advised by a care worker, to give them a ring to check on my aunts condition. . I am disgusted by how the one female spoke to me. Telling me she has 30 people to care for, and can’t be having conversations with everyone that makes an enquiry. How you got a job in the care sector, is beyond me. I pity anyone under your care!!!
