I would like to thank Nigel Salmon – BrokenWind, for doing an amazing and challenging alteration on my Yamaha 280 Alto Sax. This was no easy task but quite a unique challenge for Nigel. As I suffer from arthritis in my fingers, I was unable to play the lower notes as my finger would not stretch that far. Imagine my surprise in finding someone who was brave enough to take on such a difficult task. The keywork had to be modified with a replacement set and extended by approx. 10mm. Also, the new keywork required silver plating and lacquering. The finish is fabulous, and I am so happy I can now play all the notes on my Sax and without any restrictions with my fingers. I highly recommend Nigel for not just those challenging, unique alterations or modifications but also for any repairs or maintenance you might need on your wind instrument. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!

I was referred to Nigel by my lovely clarinet teacher, Jen Flatman. Nigel's workshop is not unlike The Repair Shop from the TV programme, oozing so much experience from many years in the business. I am a beginner student of 63 years of age, with a deformed index finger, making it difficult to play a clarinet. Nigel came up with an amazing solution (within a week) and the fee was extremely reasonable. He must have put a lot of thought and time into finding a solution - this level of customer service is a rarity. Why go anywhere else?
