The doctors are great here but your chances of winning the lottery are better than getting an appointment here. I rang them for an appointment at precisely 8:00am when they opened, to be told by an automated service that the appointments are all gone and it's a 50 minute wait to speak to someone. It's atrocious.

I have been using this practice for nearly 30 years now and it just gets worse as time goes on . The doctors are very good if you can get a appointment with one. I have been trying to get a appointment & medication for a week now as i have great pain, you ring at 8am and the phone rings and on hold for ages and then all appointments are gone, walk in at 8am when i start work so impossible, come after work and you are turned away, patches no one got back to me, Woman on the phone had a cant be bothered attitude and said ring back at 8am and just fobbed me off. I have finally sorted all my problems by changing doctors, they actually answer the phone and try to help you and i can get to see a doctor. Things need to change here, managers must to aware of the failure to manage patients needs.

To manager of oakwood lane medical practice,This morning I Called 111 regarding the extreme ongoing pain , numbness in my left knee which could be tear cartilage, and need immediate attention,I have been advised to call surgery and talk to doctor but receptionist refused to give an appointment this morning since she has to decide what is best for me.But in NHS website this is what advise If knee pain is stopping you doing normal activities or affecting your sleep the pain is getting worse or keeps coming back your symptoms have not improved after treating it at home your knee is stiff for more than 30 minutes after waking up call your GP .I called but the receptionist is the that now diagnos as well refused to give me appointment Mahshid Mitchell

This place is awful. No way to get through on the phone and the new Patchs thing is always 'unavailable'. I've been coming off medication which I've had to do carefully and feel completely unsupported - have had to google how to do it rather than be able to speak to a doctor which is actually quite dangerous in terms of relapse. Have had to discuss mental health over the phone in a public place because you can't schedule an appointment time anymore or see a doctor face to face. The receptionists are rude and uncaring. I will be moving practice ASAP

I have never encountered a worse GP. It's impossible to get through on the phone and impossible to schedule an appointment. The receptionist is rude. I would never recommend anyone to use their services, ever. I was very happy to change GP and now receive excellent service, professional treatment, working phone lines, and appointments are scheduled quickly and without problems.

I would give a zero star if it was possible! We had been registered with this practice from the old building and we never had any issues with them before, everything changed as soon as they moved to the new one and after Dr Weston retirement. I don't see any reasons to be registered with them anymore as they are completely useless. In the last few years none of my problems had been sorted. I've booked my last appointment 2 weeks in advance, took the day off in order to answer the phone call, at 7pm when nobody rang to me,I've contacted the Medical centre by myself to find out what's going on and had been told that DrAndersen has quite a few phone calls and she will definitely ring to me. When nobody rang to me even on the next day, I've contacted Medical centre again just to find out that for some reasons my GP decided I don't need help anymore! I had enough with Oakwood Lane Medical practice!

Solution: Don't bother phone, 😉 I visited in person at 4 pm, the dual reception desk had only 4 people queuing. You'll need to either get a text link for the following morning to be used between 8 - 10:30am. Or arrive at 8 am to book a same day doctor phone appointment. Yes, it's not ideal, but we all know what's going on in the NHS and GPs, plus the abuse many receptionists get they are quitting in volumes. But if you're trying to phone to get seen even at 7am, you'll probably be wasting your time. I phoned at 07:00 and an automated message told me all available appointments had been taken. The text link method worked as the following day a very nice Doctor phoned me up and spoke about my problem, and I got the help I needed. Hopefully, I've saved you some headache. If this review has helped you, please give me a thumbs 👍 up. Thank you, and good luck.

Call at 8am and immediately says all apts gone for the day. No reviews on medication, they are not proactive checking youre ok on your meds nor at giving you results. Other practices auto arrange you reviews, ie blood tests, bp appointments, to check you are on the right meds, and also ring you with an appointment to discuss results. :(
