FAQ

Can you provide any recommendations or tips for caring for and preserving vintage clothing?

Yes, we recommend that vintage clothing is washed gently by hand or dry cleaned to avoid damage. It's also important to store vintage clothing in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and deterioration. It's best to avoid using hangers to store vintage clothing, as this can cause stretching and misshaping. Instead, we suggest folding and storing them in acid-free tissue paper or garment bags.

Are there any specific policies or restrictions regarding returns or exchanges?

Yes, we have a 14-day return policy for all items purchased in our store. The item must be in the same condition as when it was purchased and with the original tags attached. We do not accept returns on undergarments, swimwear, or earrings for hygiene reasons. We also do not offer exchanges at this time.

How do you determine the pricing for your used clothing items?

Our pricing is based on several factors, including the brand, condition, and rarity of the item. We have a team of experienced staff who carefully evaluate each item and set a fair price based on market value.

Do you offer a range of styles or only certain types of clothing?

We offer a wide range of styles, including vintage, contemporary, and designer clothing, as well as accessories and homeware. We strive to provide something for everyone and are always updating our inventory to reflect current trends.

Are your products ethically sourced and sustainable?

Yes, we are committed to ethical sourcing and sustainability. Our products are donated by the local community and are thoroughly cleaned and processed before being sold in our store. We also partner with other organizations to recycle and repurpose items that cannot be sold. All profits from our store go towards supporting the British Red Cross's humanitarian efforts.

I saw a review that said ‘they forget they are not harrods’ and I completely agree. I found a lovely sweater but as I was trying on a pair of Gucci shoes I was thinking about buying (questioning the authenticity) a sales assistant was hovering so closely over me and giving me suspicious looks. As was looking at some other items she was very rude in how she insisted I keep them behind the till while I look around and would not let me hold them. All three of the staff were sizing me up as I was at the till as if I was about to grab and run, being that it is in Chelsea I understand there must be a lot of theft however you can be vigilant without being rude. This is not Hermès. There is no need to make a customer feel so uncomfortable, Maybe turn away the super high end items if you’re so worried about theft and safety!

Perusing at a charity shop requires a great deal of dedication, but with patience you can find amazing items. I purchased a brand new Cambridge satchel briefcase for £40! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely one of my most positive experiences at a charity shop in London.

Went to the shop yesterday, was queueing outside with 3 other people not having realised that it shut at 5pm (no sign on the door) and when 5pm struck, the sales woman just came to the door (that was locked from the inside) turned the sign to 'closed' and walked to the till without so much as looking at us or saying she was sorry she had to close. She could easily have told us as closing time was approaching not to waste our time waiting, but she didn't bother and upon closing couldn't even acknowledge us, even though we were clearly queuing to enter. If that's how the RC trains its staff I'm not sure it should run shops. I won't be returning which is a shame since I've spent quite a lot of money in the shop of the years as well as donated a lot of nice things to it. You live and learn.
