Worst company in the world, topping up is an endless nightmare. Website never works, phone line never works, can't speak to anybody, no pay points to top up. Absolutely useless. Can't wait to leave this appalling conglomerate

Its amazing the government is providing support for alternative fuel payment, such as oil, via the electricity supplier. British Gas received this payment on the 21st February and keep it! Point 1) They dont inform you they have recieved it. Point 2) To have the payment transferred to your bank account, you need to ring British Gas Customer Services and wait there queues. Point 3) Then it will be another 5-working days to recieve the payment. British Gas are onto a nice little earner, receiving interest for nearly a month.

Shocking customer service Me and my partner have recently moved into a new house we have got in touch with British gas to set up pay as you smart meter ect. Me and my partner are new at all this so we are learning along the way. Our smart meter won't connect and seems to be broken we can't see what we are using and don't even know how much we are using ect We have got intouch with British gas 4 times 1st time we was told we would have a call back the next day 2nd time we was told the same 3rd time we was going well and then phone hung up at their said tried to contact them back and they was busy 4th time the rude lad on the phone was no help what so ever not even like we want to be with them we want to change but can't at the moment due to new system our other provider has not got yet

One star is generous. Utterly appalling company. Limited hours to contact them in. The people staffing the chat facility have awful communication skills and low levels of English. They have totally messed up my govt rebates and I’ve had to complain about the complaints process because they’ve failed to do the things agreed as part of my original complaint. Can’t believe anyone actually works for these losers. Apparently they can’t read my smart meter??!! They don’t have an app. They ask me to submit meter readings but the system won’t accept them because the reading isn’t what they expected. Truly and completely shambolic. They don’t deserve a licence to operate.
