I volunteered at Bristol Steiner School for over two years. I felt in awe of the beautiful community that is created here. The teachers build an atmosphere of genuine love, and the school is more like a community than merely a place of education. The teachers are impeccable and devote themselves to helping the children not just learn the standard curriculum but develop as whole, unique and nourished individuals. This school is a rare and special place where children are encouraged to be creative and learn at their own pace. The effort, love and commitment the staff have to understanding and supporting each child is heartwarming and I feel, helps to create a well formed and happy adult. I was often struck by the ease, gentleness and confidence of the children, how learning is a joy and something they want to take part in. In my opinion this school, this environment, nourishes and accepts the soul of each of its students, which is exceptionally more than what I can say of most standard educational settings.

Both my children went to Bristol Steiner School, my daughter from age 4 to 16 and my son till he was 14, and secondary provision ended at the school. We as parents feel very lucky to have had the opportunity for our children to attend the school. Steiner education is truly child centred education. It fosters many positive attributes, such as a deep respect and connection with the natural world, the importance of creativity and the imagination, and fosters a love of learning, enquiry, and critical thinking. It is a community where parental involvement is encouraged and valued. The school has many wonderful and inspiring teachers, and the environment of the school, classrooms and garden is warm and welcoming.

Bristol Steiner School is a great learning environment. I have seen my own children grow in confidence as people as well as laying strong foundations academically. I think the balance of happy children with great academics is worth striving for, and this school does a good job of this. I believe the love of learning which has been nurtured in our children here is likely to have a life-long impact and I am very grateful to whole staff team for their professionalism and dedication.

This is a fantastic school, giving children time and space to grow and confidence to be themselves. The Steiner Curriculum takes things more slowly and you need a bit of faith at times when it seems your kids are not making the kind of progress expected in the national curriculum. Stick with it! It works! They come out at the other end as well rounded, engaged, socially active, kind, happy and successful young people. All 3 of my children attended and after a slow start, all are excelling academically.

Exceptional teachers, wonderful community, perfect for my two children - a boy and a girl - once who has just left and the other who has two more years. Would whole-heartedly recommend it and think all primary schools could learn from it. The healthiest start in life...

My wife and I moved our daughter here, after she had completed year 1 in at Henleaze Junior. We are thrilled with the progress our daughter has made and can’t believe how much she loves the school. The Bristol Steiner School has the most incredible staff and wonderful teachers. Our daughter is thriving with a wonderful group of friends. We have now sent our youngest boy here, who also loves everyday at school.
