I was a bit disappointed by our trip. Booked to do the Sunday drinks trip to Beesee’s. The boat we were put on wasn’t the same one advertised on the website - although that one was moored up next to it, so not sure why we didn’t get to go on that one. The boat we ended up on was enclosed so you couldn’t really see the river very well and seating was such that people had to have their back to the windows. Also I read there was supposed to be commentary but there wasn’t any. Only 45 mins at the pub and the que to get a drink was long so it was quite rushed. Overall an okay experience, but not worth the money.

A gentle sail along the river on Sarurday for a relatives birthday. Fish and chips all ready and packed on the boat for departure. Was a really nice afternoon, the weather held for us we got to pass through a lock gate too which the kids found fascinating. Toilets were also available on board if needed.

Did the Avon Gorge Cruise. Absolutely brilliant - loved it. Well organised, not overcrowded and able to sit for the journey but also able to stand to take (many!) photos. Commentary was excellent. Hot and cold drinks available on board and a few alcohol drinks too. Some snacks also. Although it was enclosed on the boat for the start of the season, you'll still need a coat as it gets chilly. Access on/off the boat is via steps down the side of the harbour and then a few very steep steps on to the boat so you need to be steady on your legs. Not suitable for wheelchair users or pushchairs. I would also say not suitable for children under about 6 years as it is about 3 hours long and they would get bored. The scenery is wonderful and that coupled with history makes it a very enjoyable activity and you won't be disappointed. Recommend Bristol Packet Boat Trips.
