Ki to Health
I was looking for yoga and the brighton ki society showed me the infinite well of what the mind and body do working as one. Being positive being with Ki changed the way I do everything, how I interact with others and view situations.

KI Aikido taught me Life skills and practise for being attacked - with the help of meditation and breathing I can highly recommend to take up this form of martial arts - it is suitable for all ages - fit or not fit - you have to work hard but the rewards are tangible and will get you to think differently.

I started training Ki Aikido two years ago when I was in university. After moving to London I started to visit the Brighton Ki Centre and their satellite club in London to train. Apart from the more applied aikido techniques, Ki Aikido puts great emphasis on the state of mind, mind and body unification, relaxation, breathing and having a naturally strong posture. This has been extremely helpful for me both in the other martial arts I pursue, where it has greatly improved my ability to remain calm, controlled and balanced, and with my health. I have light scoliosis and working on a computer most day doesn't help with that, but the training and techniques I have learned at the Ki Centre have really greatly helped me to improve my posture and and counter act some of my back problems. The Brighton Ki Centre is an excellent facility with a big, bright dojo, excellent instructors who are really passionate about what they do and have excellent teaching abilities. I have only ever met really nice people here and after coming round two or three times it soon feels like joining a family where everybody helps each other develop. Even if you are unsure (and I certainly was at the beginning), I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone looking to gain better work-life balance, improve their well-being, dealing with stressful situations and conflicts, to give this a try. It will have a positive impact.

A very welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, where instructors and more experienced students are generous with their time and attention to further everyone's own personal development. I find the combined practices of meditation and aikido arts hugely beneficial. Through the training, I am learning to relax while building a stronger connection with my own body.

Excellent facility in centre of Brighton. Friendly classes and balanced combination of self-defence with health and well-being. Wide range of courses on offer, with a style that is effective but not too 'martial'.
