Not only did I not receive the help that I needed, but it also made me feel terrible. As per my experience, some of the people working in this organisation are not fit for the job! I believe people working on charities must have personal qualities. Story: highly educated, high-rate taxpayer, always on the other side (working for charities and helping people), for the first time due to temporary unfortunate circumstances, needed some help (didn’t full fill the time scale for paid maternity leave by my new employer, and not been eligible for any sort of government help due to my tax code!!) I was on unpaid maternity leave and living with maternity allowance of about £600 per month in the period of (1) cost of living crisis, (2) being a single mum, (3) has no friends and family support because of the city that I was living, (4) being responsible for essential expenses such as mortgage, service charge, ground rent, council tax, house insurance, water, internet, mobile, TV licence, gas, electricity, etc., (5) my food, essential personal hygiene products, essential household hygiene products, and (6) baby’s formula, nappy, clothes, hygiene products, development toys, etc. My Health Visitor (HV) referred me to Brighter Futures for Children, believing that they offer essential food supply, and basic assistance in managing babies to keep up with household work (as an example they would look after my baby for me to cook, etc.). However: - In Feb 2023 I mentioned that I am living on porridge as my food! They said that they have referred me to a food supply team, and I will be receiving some food and vouchers in a week's time! From Feb to the end of Apr (each week), I asked for it and they said, Oh you haven’t received it? We will chase it! AND I never received it! NEVER! This has made me feel cheap and horrible, feeling that I am begging for food! I did ask them to chase it and find out where it went wrong (not for me, but for improvement and this didn't happen to anyone else) but I never received a reply! - they insist on weekly meeting at home for about 45min to 1 hr (not useful chitchatting and mostly asking what I have done a that week, like reporting to them)! I asked if, instead of one of these meetings, they could come with me to my dentist (5 min walk from my place) and to watch my baby for me to attend my dentist appointment for 30 min, which I was sooo desperate for. They said that they cannot, and I must employ a sitter for it! I asked if in one of the house visits, they could watch my baby for 30min for me to have a proper shower. They said that I should put my baby in a bouncy chair inside the bathroom and have my shower! - once I was offered to be driven to a children's centre as the family worker was going there right after visiting me and she needed to go back to similar areas of where I was after her work, I accepted and thanked her for it. On our return in the car, I mentioned that I was not happy about how they had treated me with the food situation, and I felt cheap and horrible about it. Apparently, she didn’t like my comment, she dropped me on the other side of the road to get back home while I had my baby, the car seat and a big maternity bag to carry with my bad wrist, wearing a brace! She said that the side of the road was easier for her! - I asked a question regarding the info/details that they were asking and what they would do with it. The family worker kept saying ‘I told you’, ‘I told you on the first day’, etc. the tone was horrible, and not professional at all! No understanding of IF I asked it means I don’t know (forgot? Not sure? Double check? etc. the tone was not appropriate) I mentioned the above (and more scenarios of what happened) to my HV and she was very surprised as she believed what I needed were the things they must have helped me with!!! I withdrew my request for help in late Apr, I wish I had never ever asked them! Those people that I saw do NOT have it! Not nice at all :(

Serviced Accommodation providers in Reading, please by all means avoid this organisation and do not give them your apartment, they will only pay for the first week, guests will be left in your apartment and you will never be able to get any more payments from them nor will you be able to contact anyone again.

Too much to sqy about this company so rather keep it short, just avoid getting involved with these people. (Social worker team) Please avoid especially if you have mental health you will not be listened too or believed at all my best advice is if you got kids you can't ask for help or the wrath or social will be at your door

Brighter futures purposely mislead and lied to us. We offered a flat for a quiet well behaved individual, who could have a long term home. instead we received a violent thug straight from prison. He has wrecked the flat and continues to terrorise his neighbours. We have lost a long term tenant, who left because he was worried for the safety of himself and his girlfriend. landlords avoid at all costs
