FAQ
What is your teacher-to-student ratio?
At Bright Horizons West Hill Day Nursery and Preschool, we maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio to ensure that every child receives individual attention and care. Our ratio varies depending on the age group, but we always meet or exceed the national requirements for early years settings in the UK.What type of curriculum do you use?
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which is a UK government framework for the education and care of children from birth to five years old. Our curriculum is designed to provide a play-based, child-centered approach that supports children's learning and development across all areas, including communication, physical development, personal, social, and emotional development, literacy, and mathematics. Are there any extracurricular activities offered?
Yes, we offer a range of extracurricular activities, including music and movement, yoga, cooking, gardening, and more. These activities are designed to enhance children's learning and development in a fun and engaging way, and they are included in our daily schedules. What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday to Friday, from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. We are closed on weekends and bank holidays. We understand that families have different schedules, so we offer flexible drop-off and pick-up times within our operating hours. What is your policy on potty-training?
We work closely with families to support children's potty-training journey. We follow each child's individual needs and pace, and we provide a supportive and nurturing environment to encourage their progress. We ask that children are already showing signs of readiness for potty-training, and we work closely with families to ensure consistency between home and nursery.Reviews

We couldn't have been happier with our son's time at Bright Horizons (West Hill). During his 9 months, he was made to feel loved and safe, and we can only hope that we find somewhere else as fantastic, now that we have moved out of town. Simone is a wonderful manager who always helped to solve problems and make life as easy as possible, and Adi and Shana have a perfect blend of kindness and patience while still running a relatively tight ship. To see our little boys face light up when we dropped him off (and when we picked him up) made us feel so much happier in our decision to start sending him when he was only 5 months old. We really couldn't recommend this nursery and it's staff any higher!

Not sure who is writing the other reviews. Granted this used to be a good nursery. Now most parents we have spoken to regret the choice. Ever since manager changes before last summer the senior management have taken their eye off the ball regarding staffing and the children's development is paying the price.

My daughter loved this nursery. It was the best decision i made sending her before lockdown and after. The team took such great care of my daughter. She suffers with ASD and they accommodated her needs. Supported her. She had the best summer 2020 at Brighton Horizons Westhill. Thank you to Eve and her whole team.

After 1.5yrs here we had to take the decision to remove our daughter. After a great start initially with opening of the new facility, the manager left & it was never the same. 6 different managers in 1.5 years, countless key workers & a number of concerning issues around quality of care, we decided enough was enough. The building itself is beautiful & they have great facilities but at the end of the day it’s the quality of care that counts. The staff in the rooms try their best but shambolic management completely lets the place down. Such a shame.
