FAQ
What type of curriculum do you use?
We use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which is the national standard for early childhood education in the UK. Our curriculum is designed to support children's development in seven key areas, including communication and language, physical development, and personal, social and emotional development. What is your staff to child ratio?
Our staff to child ratio varies depending on the age of the children. For children under two, we have one staff member for every three children. For two-year-olds, it's one staff member for every four children. For three- to five-year-olds, it's one staff member for every eight children. What is your policy on sick children attending the creche?
We have a strict policy that sick children should not attend the creche. If a child is ill, we ask that they stay at home until they are well enough to return. This is to prevent the spread of illness and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children and staff. What is your policy on potty-training?
We work closely with parents to support children who are in the process of potty-training. We ask that children come to the creche in pull-ups or training pants, and we encourage them to use the potty throughout the day. We also provide regular updates to parents on their child's progress. How do you communicate with parents regarding their child's progress and daily activities?
We use a variety of methods to communicate with parents, including daily reports, online portfolios, and regular parent-teacher conferences. Our daily reports provide a summary of each child's day, including what they ate, how they slept, and what activities they participated in. Our online portfolios allow parents to see photos and videos of their child's learning experiences. And our parent-teacher conferences provide an opportunity for parents to meet one-on-one with their child's teacher to discuss their progress and development.Reviews

A list of the lack of professionalism I’ve witnessed at this nursery: - Staff commenting on a little girl’s physical looks and saying how beautiful she is in front of all the children. - Staff saying “I love you” to children. - Staff gossiping about children and their parents. - Staff being generally disrespectful towards the children and other staff members. - A manager that behaves like a teenager with an attitude. - Staff taking photos of children’s ‘work’ to show to parents and tell them their child learned a topic while in fact it was a staff member who messily painted every single one! (I found this one to be the most humorous).

The staff is amazing! They care so much about the children. I couldn't have dreamt of a better nursery for my special needs daughter! Would definitely recommended it!

There has been a lot of change with our kids moving from Bright horizons Colindale to Hendon, it has been a struggle for both us and the nursery staff and management. But they have been responsive and understanding and we feel out little ones are well looked after and always excited to go to the nursery

Tia and the team are absolutely great, really helpful. Since the pandemic they’ve done they’re best to keep up up to date with changes to the nursery and what measurements they’ve put in place to continue to keep our children safe. The only downside is since the lockdown, the Beaufort nursery was temporarily closed which has led to our Hendon nursery taking on the extra children from Beaufort which has led them to being at full capacity. This isn’t allowing our child of 3 to move up to the next class from nursery to preschool. I know they are trying their best to overcome the situation and there aren’t many options to solve the lack of space for children to move to the next class. It’s just a shame our child has to suffer.

Lovely staff, amazing infrastructure, our daughter has been there since she is 6 months old. 2,5 years later she still absolutely loves attending the nursery every day. They do a lot of fun and didactic activities and you receive daily a summary of what your child did during the day. This nursery and their staff really go the extra mile, thank you Hendon Nursery for your valuable support.
