Visited here for a Monday afternoon lunch. Were persuaded by the great reviews. Sadly, they didn't measure up. The welcome was warm and genuine. The pub needs an overhaul. Seats are dirty and stained, the carpet was sticky. Food ordered and arrived really, really quickly. Ploughman's: Plentiful and pleasant enough although the cheese was rubbery and best described as "mouse-trap" with little taste. It was presented nicely though. Lamb shank & veg: Mash was cold in the middle, as was the lamb shank. The other veg was really hot. I suspect a lot of the heat came from the microwave and salamander! We decided to skip desert. So, yes, nice enough but nothing to write home about. We won't be returning.

A very friendly family run village pub serving good portions of home made dishes. If your very hungry then try a starter or a share dish but the main courses are big and very filling. There is a nice area outside you can sit in if the sun is shining & a bbq area for the summer months. A small children's play area also within the Pubs grounds.
