I can't recommend Jim either as a bike mechanic or for his customer service. I took my bike in at the end of the year for a routine service so that it would be in good shape for the start of the year. The bike had no issues when left with Jim. The bike I got back had issues when trying to change gears. I noticed it on my ride back from his shop when collecting my bike. I tried to fix it myself by indexing the gears but couldn't get it right so contacted Jim the same day to politely ask whether he could take a look. Unfortunately he didn't bother replying until I left this review. I wouldn't go back to Jim as I'm not confident in his abilities as a bike mechanic and his lack of response to a polite text has left a sour taste. Response to Jim's reply (see photo) 1. I waited until 4pm today prior to writing this review as your shop was open today (see photo). Despite this, you didn't bother replying to my text but had time to respond to this review to make excuses/attempt to save your public image. Perhaps, before replying to my review, you could have called to apologise? 2. In your reply, you seem to be suggesting that I may have texted the wrong number. I texted the same number that you had no problems replying to prior to payment (see photo). Update 30/03/22 After having ridden the bike for months with the gear issue, I finally took it to The London Cycle Work Shop in Ealing Broadway to see if they could fix it. It turns out Jim had put the wrong chain on the bike. My bike is a 10 speed. He put a 9 speed chain on it. No wonder it was having issues. It beggars belief that Jim is running a bike repair shop and doesn't even know to put the correct chain on. Unbelievable!
