FAQ
What is your teacher-to-student ratio at the nursery?
Our teacher-to-student ratio at the nursery varies depending on the age group of the children. For infants, we have one teacher for every three children, and for toddlers, we have one teacher for every four children. For preschoolers, we have one teacher for every six children. How do you handle discipline and behavior issues with the children?
We have a positive behavior management policy at our nursery, where we focus on praising and rewarding good behavior rather than punishing negative behavior. We have clear rules and expectations that are communicated to the children, and we use positive reinforcement techniques such as stickers and verbal praise to encourage good behavior. If a child does display negative behavior, we use strategies such as distraction and redirection to address the behavior in a positive way. What types of plants do you specialize in growing?
At Braithwaites Garden Centre and Florist, we specialize in growing a wide range of plants, including flowers, vegetables, herbs, and fruit trees. We also have a selection of indoor plants and succulents. What is your process for ensuring the quality of your plants?
We take great care to ensure the quality of our plants at Braithwaites Garden Centre and Florist. We source our seeds and plants from reputable suppliers, and we have a team of experienced horticulturists who oversee the growing process. We regularly inspect our plants for pests and diseases, and we use organic and natural methods to treat any issues that arise. Can you provide guidance or advice on plant care and maintenance?
Absolutely! Our team of horticulturists are always available to provide guidance and advice on plant care and maintenance. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a beginner, we're happy to answer any questions you may have and provide tips on how to keep your plants healthy and thriving.Reviews

Great nursery and garden centre. Very much a focus on the plants. No frills, no elaborate shopping area or coffee shop. However, if you are interested in the plants they have a great selection at very good prices (some half that of Sarah Raven). Only issue is that parking can be tricky on busy days

I wanted a Rose Bush for my parent's 40th wedding anniversary. I emailed, and they quickly replied and gave their advice on what they had, and when I visited the centre, the young gentleman was very helpful. He showed me to the Ruby wedding Red Rose Bush. It was only £12. Very happy.

My favourite garden nursery. A marvelous selection of very healthy plants at very competitive prices. Staff are very knowledgeable & friendly & happy to advise. So many garden centres now have cafés & the plants seem to be more of a sideline. It's a 38 mile round trip for me but I always look forward to going & if I want refreshment there's always Bedale or Northallerton!!
