It’s a good park that hardly seem to ever be used. The bowl section is very good with lots of transfers to be done. The street section is a bit rubbishy and this is what is most often used

Braintree's most recent skatepark, often referred to as "The Bowl" or "New Park" Funded backhandedly by Tesco's (yes that is why a One Stop is situated adjacent to the park) the Braintree Skate Bowl is a real frankenstein of a skatepark. The "street" section of park is exceptionally cramped and clearly has not been designed by a skater, BMXer or skatepark user. The sizeable bowl is the biggest attraction of the park, featuring a cradle section, spine and various areas for transfers. The street section is often populated with newer riders or scooter riders, the bowl for more experience users, or a stray scooter rider not following correct etiquette. Parking for the skatepark is now problematic due to the erection of a fence disabling cars of skatepark users from parking on the grass. Skatepark attendees were not being lazy, we were merely being considerate to local residents who's limited parking availability may be compromised due to the increased attraction to the area. Shortly after opening in Summer 2012, a joyridden and later burnt out car was found in the largest bowl, hitting local headlines and arguably fuelling local residents with the rhetoric to tarnish the image of a popular facility used by a younger demographic. Alas, this was not enough to damage the reputation of the park, but it still retains an eery less inclusive presence, due to its proximity of housing estates on Coldnailhurst Avenue.
