First visit was in the week. I was meant to take two pills on the same day and go home. After my consultation with the nurse I decided that I’d rather have a vacuum and coil fitted staraight away. I needed a weekend appointment and that was accommodated. We arrived 30 minutes early on a Saturday. We were asked to be seated in the small waiting room that was a little too crowded. Upon further communication with reception it was agreed that we could wait in the bigger waiting area which was much more comfortable and less busy. The nurse called my name 15 mines after we sat down. I was examined and given the first pill (my partner was allowed to accompany me). I was here for the vacuum procedure but decided against general anesthetic. My nurse called the operating theatre and we were told that the form will be amended upstairs when I go through and that it wasn’t a problem. The pill that I took was supposed to work for one hour so I asked if we could come back as it was a lovely, sunny day outside. We were advised not to go far but allowed to go out. We returned 45 minutes later and had to wait perhaps another 30 minutes. I was prepared to wait 2-3 hours as that was the information in the booklet. I was then called through and escorted upstairs. Changed and my belongings were taken away. 10 minutes later I was on the bed and I had to remind the nurse that I didn’t want the general anesthetic. My surgeon came out and made sure I understood the procedure and amended the form. My partner was then called in and he was allowed to be by my side throughout. I cannot thank the staff enough! I am so very grateful to my surgeon and to all the nurses in the theatre and in my first appointments. Procedure took less than 4 minutes with coil installation. It was not painful and it was so fast. I was moved to recovery area promptly and exsamined. I was ready to go 10 minutes after the surgery and I felt absolutely fine. We had hot drinks and biscuits. I was given antibiotics, condoms, instructions and we were free to go. I arrived at 9:50 and left at 13:00. I was prepared to be there till 17:00. I don’t care how long it would have taken, I don’t care if this was more painful or uncomfortable. I understand that sometimes mistakes happen and you have to wait a little longer. But this is a free procedure and the fact that the clinic is so busy means that they are correcting our mistakes! Please be more considerate to the NHS staff and don’t complain about long waiting hours. Go to a private clinic if you want to be waited on. Bare in mind that you are sacrificing a day out of your life to correct something that could change your life forever. Don’t be so entitled and show a bit of humility and gratitude and maybe you will get it back. I wish all the ladies who are considering this option all the best. 4 minute procedure and painless. We walked home for an hour, after having lunch we went to the city center and walked some more. We went for a walk by the river on Sunday and I feel absolutely normal. I am not suffering with emotions, I am not bloated after anything I eat, my breasts aren’t swollen and my nipples aren’t sore. This is day two and I’m hardy bleeding at all. I don’t know how can I pass my gratitude to each and every single staff member in this clinic but most of all my surgeon! I hope that this review will reach them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart I hope the universe will give you back what you put in 10 folds!

nikki the midwife in bpas sefton park was amazing. she made me feel so welcome and her support was unreal . she was so kind and loving. the staff in this centre were really loving and comforting towards me also. you are not just a number here , they actually deal with you how you should be dealt with. the reassurance and guidance was amazing. i would always recommend this centre to anybody. thank you for making me feel so much better. having the option to have the consultation over the phone to save you going to 20 appointments before the procedure and also the option to abort at home is so much easier for you , and being at home is the best is the best place you want to be when going through this. so thankyou for making me feel at ease .
