People should be aware that the games have time limits so, if like us, you book two games you might not actually get to finish both games if you aren’t prepared to treat it like a military exercise. Sister in law booked 8 adults split over two lanes for two games. First game was fine. Second game I was the final bowler. I played an absolute blinder. I’d only missed one pin over the first 9 frames, stepped up for the last bowl of the night, pushing 180, my highest scoring game ever and the lights on the lane turned off.. Our scores were gone from the screen. Nooooo…! I asked the lad on the arcade what the crack was and he said the games were timed and we must have run out. New info. As stated we were a group of adults, we took no loo breaks, multiple strikes were scored reducing the total number of bowls made, we had babysitters at home so weren’t hanging around between frames and we still ran out of time. Not sure how kids would keep up if they were using the kiddy bowling apparatus thingy. We did however have to wait multiple times between bowls whilst the pins did some kind of freak out dance at the end of the lane. One time they took so long to regroup we almost went to the bar to ask if it was broken. At the time the second game was prematurely ended it was an hour before closing and we were the only group in there. I don’t understand the point of stopping the final bowl of a game when no one else is waiting to play? I went to the bar to ask if I could finish. The response I got was like they were doing me a favour by allowing me to take my final go despite the fact that we’d booked two games and the place was empty. She asked me multiple times which lane we were playing on whilst scrolling through the PC. There are only about 5 lanes in the place and at this stage the wives on the only other lane being used had finished their game and there was no one else in there.. She said ‘I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with the way you were playing but if you’re chatting you might not get to finish.’ Apologies, I didn’t realise socialising should be kept to a minimum when adults book fun activities as a medium to see each other.. It seemed to be an annoyance to her that I wanted to take my last go. After she reset the system and it all came back on it didn’t register my final bowl anyway. Cest la vie. I asked if it was possible for my score could to be manually inputted, mainly for ongoing bragging rights, which she did and then kindly printed out the score sheet. No score registered for the final bowl. Brilliant. Nice memento. Might frame it. I didn’t personally book the bowling but I can’t find any info about time restrictions on the terms and conditions, could be mistaken. We did have fun but I wouldn’t rush back as I’ve never had to stop bowling mid game anywhere else before apart from at Center Parcs where they are very upfront about the fact you are booking the lane for an hour rather than a specified number of games. Shame really. Maybe I’m just annoyed that my crowning moment as an amateur bowler was marred but I wouldn’t want to explain to a child that they don’t get to take their last go when all their friends have taken theirs.. I did win 500 tickets on the grabber in the arcade which my brother in law was buzzing about. Swagged a box of Maltesers . Although I would say the tickets to pound conversion rate is more eye watering than the BoE base rate.

Absolutely loved the bowling experience, as there are only a few alleys it made it more enjoyable. Grandchildren were well up for it and they all beat me
