Pretty poor overpriced baguettes. Almost stale when we got them and too hard and not nice tasting like French baguettes. £2.40 each and wouldn’t go back

I would like to comment on a very rude service we received in this otherwise loved local establishment. my friend and I were passing Jade with two cups of coffee on our way to the heath when we decided to take some cakes/baked goods with us and buy some to take home. After having done so we sat at the table outside - all of them were empty when we sat down to eat a quiche we bought as it has started drizzling at that point. A lady then came out and rudely shouted at us “you CANT drink other people’s coffee here! You can’t!!” She kept shouting. I then responded with “oh ok, sorry”. That didn’t satisfy her and she proceeded with “and have you paid for the pastry to be had here? You haven’t paid. All these people paid extra to have it here! You haven’t paid”. She made it sound as if we stole the pastries!! At that point I was rather uncomfortable and suggested I go and pay “extra” to have one of the pastries there… I asked the woman how much she would you like me to pay (pls bear in mind I bought a box of pastries to take home - which I did - and a quiche that me and my friend nibbled on where sat at the table”. I was then charged £3.30 (more than a price of the product consumed on on premises) for the privilege to be sat outside Jade with a bag of baked goods and being treated like a common criminal, shouted at and pointed finger at”. I am beyond disappointed. I am a local and loyal customer and I have never experienced anything like that in the village before.

You pay £10 for a below average coffee and an ordinary cake, you get unclean dishes and unfriendly treatment. Shame, it'd be a pretty nice spot otherwise.

Stood waiting patiently for the slowest ever service then then woman at the till despite seeing me wait there for quite a while went straight to the woman behind me who’d just walked through It couldn’t be anymore of a snub I was standing right at the till and couldn’t have been anymore obvious I’d just finished a 12 hour night shift at the hospital and all I wanted was a flipping pastry.

Generally nice food, however we've had a few pastries that have been stale several times. Drinks are very overpriced. I ordered a latte last time I visited and recieved a milky one shot drink. When questioning why it wasn't two shots of espresso, the rude barista told me one shot was standard everywhere. I know for a fact it isn't, I drink a lot of coffee! she stood there for several minutes arguing this point, then wanted to charge me for the extra shot. I asked for a refund and left. Poor customer service!not going back.
