On holiday from the US. The reviews speak for themselves: this is a great place for kids and adults to experience historic aviation up close and hands on. We almost passed it up to go to Old Sarum, but we are very glad our 5 year old picked the aviation museum instead. Lots of volunteer staff here to chat with as they share their stories of prior service and explain the ins and outs of the cockpit. Kids and adults can climb into the planes and have a one of a kind experience as they imagine soaring through the clouds. Well done Boscombe Down Aviation!

Unbelievable range of aircraft and artefacts all associated with the various and important activities of this important aérodrome Impossible to describe this place other than "WoW, Stunning, extraordinary" Go climb in the planes, talk to ex pilots, take tea and immerse yourself. Highly recommended 5 Stars.

If you could have seen my wife and I (both the wrong side of 65!) getting into cockpit after cockpit of jet fighters and others - Hawker Hunter to Tornado via Canberra, etc. - just like big kids in a sweet shop. To actually get so close up to planes that we knew so well from childhood to current day was amazing, something we had never thought possible, and we learned a lot about what it must have taken to fly them. So nice to be able to wander around at will on our own, with somebody around in the background to ask if we wanted to know more. Great that these exhibits have been saved for posterity by this charity, just a pity I only found out about the place by chance a few weeks ago.
