My wife and l have our eyes checked regularly. The service is second to none. The eye check is A1 and you are made very welcome. There is no pressure buying your frames and very reasonably priced. The best opticians we have ever been to. Well done

Incredibly rude optician who made me feel very unwelcome and in fact told me I shouldn't be there. Very upsetting, especially when I was so worried about my eye and just wanted to make sure I was ok. I booked an urgent NHS CUES appointment after scratching my eye last week at Glastonbury Festival. I had seen a doctor at the festival and he gave me some drops and said it would be better in a week but 8 days later my eye still felt weird and sensitive to light so I needed to get it checked out. My normal optician (Specsavers) said I needed an urgent NHS appointment which they couldn't offer themselves because of my injury. I checked on the NHS website and BOS was my nearest optician that offered this service. I rang up the day before to book the appointment and answered lots of questions about my eye and was on the phone for over 11 minutes discussing this. The lady on the phone asked a manager to check it fell under CUES and they agreed it did. On arrival the lady on reception was friendly and took me upstairs to the optician. He was rude from the very start and told me I shouldn't be there as it wasn't covered under CUES because I also wanted to know if I was safe to wear my contact lens again. CUES covers minor eye injuries which I had so I don't understand why he was even questioning this. He made me feel very uncomfortable. When I asked a question every response was short, sarcastic and reverted back to how I only had a dry eye and shouldn't be there. I had no idea I only had a dry eye now as I didn't know if it had healed. At the festival I was told I had corneal abrasians which I thought was serious and had spent most of the week not being able to open my eye, in severe pain and wearing an eye patch. I was treated so badly I very nearly walked out, if I hadn't of been so worried about my eye I would have done. If I really wasn't supposed to be there then they shouldn't have let me book an appointment in the first place. There's plenty of other places I could have gone in the area. I answered all questions on the phone truthfully. Or once I arrived they could have apologised and found somewhere else for me to go. It was the attitude which was the problem. Absolutely terrible customer service by the optician, who I believe is probably also the owner. They still logged it as a CUES appointment on the system so they will still get paid for their time from the NHS, which they don't deserve after my awful treatment. Noone should be made to feel so upset after an eye appointment and I would not like to support this business by visiting them ever again.

Today I had my eye test here. Excellent, customer facing staff who exudes care for each customer. The optometrist was delightful and caring; following this the quality of searching for new glasses was explained and conducted well. It was an open conversation and, similar to other reviewers, the patience of the ladies that helped me was first class. I have bought glasses from many different opticians over the years. This is the first time I have wanted to post a review due to the good, end to end service I received today. Yes, this is an independent optician; however, this is the key to its success as they have customers at the front of mind and can spend time with each customer. A delight to visit and I look forward to my new glasses in a couple of weeks. Thanks

Excellent customer service. Very patient with myself as an elderly person with mobility issues. Everything fully explained & shown to me. There were young people choosing glasses as I entered so being elderly not sure what to expect. Would thoroughly recommend. I do require new glasses but no pressure to purchase immediately. So nice to meet someone who obviously cares about his profession.

I found the attention to detail of the optician himself and the care and warmth of the supporting staff to be exceptional. The final outcome, the restoration of remarkably good vision after a year of impaired sight was utterly transformative. My grateful thanks. The quality of the experience on my first visit ensured that not only did I return a year later but also that I recommended this optician and his staff to all my friends. Thank you, once again.
