Booked an early eye check appointment for my son as he was complaining of headaches and blureed vision. They booked us in and sat us down and we were then told that if nothing had changed we had to pay £25 as a private sight test. We should have been told this when booking otherwise I would have waited

Boots Basingstoke (Store 3318) I’ve been coming to Boots opticians for 18 years. I’ve received nothing but 100% personal service. There are always friendly staff on hand to meet your needs. This store is so efficient from start to finish with excellent communication. Would like to thank Carolyn in particular, who has been part of the excellent service throughout the last 18 years! It feels almost as if we’ve struck up a friendship. 😊 Highly recommended!

I had an eye test booked today at 2.10pm and I had the text as proof of my appointment. I turned up for my appointment at 2 only to be told that my appointment had been moved to 1.30. Nobody had informed me that the time had changed. Then I was told to just book in for another day as no one could see me now. I literally booked time off work and paid for parking to go to this and it’s just terrible service. Not to mention the attitude of the person breaking this news to me, she couldn’t have cared less. Won’t be booking here again :)

Very poor service. Disappointed. I got some glasses off them a few months ago using a prescription from the Guildford store. Went back in a few days ago and asked to buy a spare pair using my existing prescription. Was told they wouldn't be able to sell me a new pair as existing prescription was out of date.. fair enough. I said I had better have another test. Asked when I could have an eye test. Guy shrugs his shoulders and says 'about mid February'. Walked out, crossed the road and went into Vision Express. Asked them how long it would take to get an eye test. They booked an appointment in less than 48 hours for an eye test. Don't bother with Boots, they couldn't give a monkeys.
