Booths Kendal is a good mid sized supermarket. Food quality and staff friendliness and helpfulness is always high. It's not a cheap supermarket but there are offers to be found around the store. There are also local suppliers and items that you won't find in a usual supermarket. I was also a little skeptical about the cost but there are the Booths Yellow label reductions, which are very good on bread and meat, if you tinevit right. Bacon or Sausage baps are available from around 7:30 and there is a cafe downstairs. If you stick to a regular list Booths won't work but if you are willing to explore the shelves you shouldn't find your weekly shop costs go up too much. Worth a look if you're new to them, which I was a year ago.

Came for breakfast whilst visiting the area. Breakfasts are huge! Even accommodated for a fussy vegetarian who doesn't like eggs, they swapped it with an extra hashbrown. Would visit again!

Lovely refurb but removed the self checkouts. Queue to check out a few items is now unacceptable. Meanwhilst M & S next door has added about 10 self checkouts. Several friends now refuse to even enter the store. For my tastes the product range now resembles something closer to Tesco Express. What this store offered before delisting in terms of premium milk, flour, local dairy can now be had cheaper at Sainsbury on the edge of town. Wine prices at the low medium end are for fancily designed labels of very bland generics. Hope Booths management read this
