So, after 13 years together, we decided to get married. That was the easy part, then to plan the day it's self. We chose to get married at Bilton House in Harrogate and after reading through their web site it gave a link to a local photographer. We didn't look any further, instantly after reading Catherine's Google reviews, we knew she was the right one for us. Just the way she puts you at ease, makes you feel calm and also offers invaluable advice to make your day that little bit less stressful. Catherine made us all feel relaxed on the day and at ease, we laughed so much our cheeks ached. This made for some amazing pictures, some funny ones too - which was brilliant, we're an easy going couple so wanted something chilled and not too formal (just like us). It was an absolute pleasure to have Catherine as our wedding photographer. During the planning stages, she always replied promptly to queries and made us feel really valued as clients, often going above and beyond with useful tips and advice. On the day, she arrived promptly, and she was professional but never overbearing. Her approach made it easy for us to relax during our couple photoshoots and just enjoy our special day in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside without feeling like we were under pressure to pose or model. She also did an amazing job capturing the overall atmosphere of the day (including little details like our dinner table name cards!) and kept the group photo session of the day running smoothly and to time (not an easy task with our fairly substantial number of guests!). Catherine made sure to follow up with us about our experience after the wedding, and gave us a sneak peek of some photos after just a few days, which was greatly appreciated! We received our full gallery within the timescale promised (about one month after the wedding, which felt very speedy!). We absolutely love our wedding photos - they are a perfect representation of our wedding day, and we never tire of looking at them. I highly recommend Catherine / Boho Chic Weddings to any couples (in Yorkshire or further afield) looking for natural, unpretentious wedding photography.

Trust me when I say that planning a wedding is both beyond exciting and overwhelmingly stressful all at the same time. Therefore, I can also tell you from personal experience that having someone as wonderful, knowledgeable and a calming presence like Catherine is a godsend. We planned a relaxed tipi wedding in the Yorkshire countryside at my sister’s house. Catherine’s style of photography was right up our street. Relaxed, informal and beautiful, the photos are beyond words. Catherine was the master of capturing mesmerizing moments, and a lot of the time we were completely unaware that they were being taken. It was these photos that we love the most, not forced just natural and full of emotion. Luke adored the photos smoking cigars with his best man and the personal moments captured by Catherine with his daughters will be treasured forever. I can also tell you that when you plan your own wedding there will be surprises you will never predict. Like while sitting in the garden posing for pictures with your bridesmaids and your sister’s cat thinks this is the opportune time to bring you your wedding gift: a mouse! Top mouser Lily then decided to rub her mousey chops all over Catherine’s leg. Catherine took it all in her stride and captured us crying with laughter perfectly. Catherine recently photographed our tipi wedding in August and I couldn’t be happier with the results! Firstly, we got to have a video chat before making the booking which was a great touch as we got to know more about her and her style of photography and also helped us feel more relaxed about the whole process, as we knew before any deposits were paid, that we all got along and had the same end goal in mind. Leading up to the wedding and throughout the day her communication was fantastic and kept us informed with everything that was happening and even gave us some great tips from her many experiences of weddings. During the day she managed to get photographs from all different angles without ever getting in the way and taking the focus on to her. This allowed her to get some amazing natural photos as guests were able to relax and not feel as though there was a camera glaring at them. Finally she went the extra mile at the end as my band played a couple of songs and she took some brilliant looking photos of us in the moment.
