I've had good experiences with other boatshed franchises in the past, but regret buying a particular boat through these guys in Portsmouth. Described as "obviously well loved" and in "good condition" actually meant "mostly worn out" "much is dangerous", "disgusting in places" and "needing a full refit". A whatsapp walk-though during lockdown was useless for us as buyers (and misrepresented the boat's actual condition as the guy (Sam's colleague?) did not follow our live instructions to stop/zoom in when requested or know the difference between good gelcoat -"It's OK- will clean up/polish out"- and the knackered version - extensive UV damaged/crazed/porous). We bought anyway, unseen, prepared for a lot of work. However, this became the proverbial can-of-worms when started. The boat was clearly not safe for any delivery trip, so had to be trucked. Decision was made to strip boat and FULLY rebuild. Happy to say the boat is now finally in commission again after a full and demanding refit, which has taken 2.5 years full-time and far too much money, when we could have been sailing instead on an honest boat. My buying experience with THIS boat is 1 star. I simply wouldn't have bought it if Boatshed's initial description and overview had been more honest and accurate. They may be good if you are a seller, especially if you have a boat that needs talking-up, like ours clearly did (they sold it after all). So, caution for any buyers. Based on my experience I wouldn't trust anything in their details. Look carefully and decide for yourself or hire a good surveyer that you can trust to be working for you.
