I booked Bluebells for my birthday with my partner and toddler. As soon as we arrived the staff was surprised I was bringing a kid, so instead of taking us to our designated table, they gave us the worst table of the restaurant: the one next to the entrance. They come with the excuse that a) the table was not prepared for a toddler (whatever that means) b) we didn’t mention on the reservation a toddler was coming (google reservations didn’t allow me to set this). I have to be honest, the food was good, the staff interactions afterwards were okay as well. But this first interaction really spoiled the whole experience to me.

Birthday treat for my husband last night. After reading all the amazing reviews, I thought it was definitely a good choice. The food was room temperature as if it had been prepared earlier and been sitting out. My starter, was a tasteless gnocchi which was luke warm and a soggy mush. The pork belly was very tender, but again slightly warm and not much flavour. I am a chocolate lover and my shortbread was sweet and brown with very little taste of chocolate considering it had two kinds in it. A Lindt Lindor has more flavour.The wine offering was very good. We finished with an Irish coffee which also arrived slightly warm as if it had been made earlier. We had to ask for our bill after a long wait. The room we were in upstairs was so loud that we had to shout to hear each other. The tables next to us had extremely loud people that you would expect at a party pub night out, not a lovely restaurant.The whole experience was such a disappointment and I am really shocked after reading continuous 5 star reviews! They did bring my husband out a happy birthday plate, but it was again, mass produced, not freshly made. Very disappointing experience. We will not be back.
