    We had a reservation at Blank for four people on 4th March 2023 for their 9 course tasting menu. The main course of the evening was a fillet of steak. As soon as my plate was presented, I asked if my steak could be done slightly more, as the fillet was served completely rare. The restaurant refused my request to have my steak done a little more. The bill for the evening was £975 - this included a 10% service charge which we did not pay and my husband deducted a further amount for the steak which I was unable to eat. We have been to Blank numerous times and after this very disappointing experience and how the situation was handled by the manager, we will never return to Blank again.

    Hi, was so looking forward to our visit tonight for tasting menu, seen good reviews but noticed they were not verified From the moment I arrived, knew instantly it was not for me, decor was masked over and cheaply presented with stains on the ceiling and skirting boards The only good thing about the evening was 2 of the 5 wines I say good, that is me being kind, for a numbers of years I have went to MUDDLERS and GALGORM for tasting menus and have been blown away as they are fantastic BLANK was such a total letdown and feel so disappointed These people are playing at it only, bluffers or totally so far removed that they actually think they are at a standard to their competitors They need to hit the reset button, worry about what the food tastes like rather than what it looks like would be a good starting point Anyone thinking about visiting forget about it and book MUDDLERS instead Never have I ever written a review good or bad previously for anywhere but seriously this place needs to start again

    One of the best nights!! We dined here last night for my birthday and the food, wine & staff were all exceptional. We arrived shortly after 8pm and weren’t leaving to near midnight. A brilliant night & will definitely be back again - we will save it for something special.

    Blank was good but can’t help but feeling a little underwhelmed. We travelled over an hour to visit here specifically due to the recent press of the addition to the Michelin Guide. The overall impression was that they were trying too hard to obtain a star rather than focusing on the overall dining experience. Some courses worked, some didn’t, some were unnecessary. We had requested on booking no seafood on one of the meals. We were greeted by the server when we sat down, who quizzed us on why and told us she strongly advise we try it. We really had to explain our way out of it. She seemed a bit bothered that we couldn’t be convinced. We didn’t really like the pushy-ness of that. Everyone’s entitled to their own tastes. We were presented with an artichoke and black truffle tea, which wasn’t exactly pleasant. The truffle was barely there and tasted like it’d been used for who knows how long. If it’s not going to be fresh then leave it out completely. It didn’t work with the rest of the meal, for us. The cod was the highlight, perfectly cooked. To the second. The beef too. However the pre-dessert of apple, sorbet and.. sugar basket (??) was poor (felt like a different restaurant) and felt a bit old fashioned. The main dessert carrot cake was also far too sweet. We opted for the cheese course afterwards and unfortunately the last dish of the night, as soon as the waitress set it down, I noticed a long hair wound through the salad. I glanced at the plate once and seen it, it should’ve been spotted. A little more care and I probably wouldn’t have felt as critical this morning. In their defence they apologised and replaced it within a few minutes, and they took it off our bill without any prompt. The service was good, the wine pairings just ok. Some better than others. The vegetarian option instead of the cod was thoughtless. Just add more cauliflower and keep the same dish. Not what you’d expect for a restaurant charging these prices. The veggies should have the same thought and attention as the other diners. Overall, the cooking was good, but not exceptional. It’s definitely way overpriced, and if you’re going to spend that kind of money on one meal it should be of a higher standard. Probably won’t return unless they up their game. Vegetarian options: Not as good as we’d had in other places.

    Gorgeous 9 course taster menu with specialty wines . Loved the beef and amazing carrot cake with beetroot sorbet delicious would go back for these alone . Staff were amazingly knowledgeable and attentive . Thank you

    Food that tantalises the tongue with every morsel. From the sharp intensity of fabulous cheese or the delicate gentle sweetness of salmon roe. Every mouthful was a delight accompanied by some rather fabulous wines, I could go on a lot, but it's better you just try for yourself. And of course the service was excellent there is nothing more to be said.
