receptionists are 9/10 times rude and unhelpful and also very judgemental. most of the doctors and nurses are good and actually help and listen to you but the receptionists have no time for you whatsoever and are plain rude and ignorant. also they say to call at 8am and that appointments are only same day yet if you call at 8am the queue is full and by the time you get through there’s no appointments left, lastly one of the doctors told me to ask to speak to him if i needed any more advice with something and the receptionists told me someone (not the dr i asked for) would call me back in 24h even though it was a 2 minute conversation that i needed

I have previously rated this surgery low due to negative experiences I encountered when I first registered in 2022 but I have been numerous times since and attended appointments for my baby and I'm overall happy with it and reception staff are pleasant to deal with since 2023 so felt I should update my review to a more accurate one. My most recent same day appointment for my 9 month old was with a lovely doctor and I was in and out with minimal waiting which was nice considering how much strain must be on the NHS and under staffing and how busy this surgery seems a lot of the time.

Why do certain receptionists have to make things so difficult. The doctor tells you to pre book a follow up yet the receptionist who has so much knowledge refuses to help. Until you ask to speak to someone else. So frustrating, don't do the Job if you don't want to help.

Registered at Blandford a few months ago and have been so pleased. It's a vast improvement on our previous doctors. They do telephone appointment initially which I prefer as it's often sufficient and can avoid a visit and allows them to help more people. Have had eye drops prescribed, inhaler and other medicines for my kids all over the phone. My partner needed to be seen and was booked in a few days after his telephone appointment. Easier to reach on phone than my previous doctor (although it does still take about 15 minutes of constant redials and then wait on hold). Doctors have all been so helpful and friendly. All GPs are under immense pressure at the moment and I have been really happy with the service we have received at Blandford.

Everything seemed to work fine today, I called at 08:00, was the 7th person in the queue. My call was answered within 5 minutes and i obtained an appointment to see the Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Checking in was straightforward and my appointment was met on time. The nurse understood my issues, checked me over and gave me my assessment. Happy with the service here and have never encountered any issues with the staff or centre facilities. The booking system used to be quite troublesome, but today worked like a dream.

This establishment exists only to worsen your health problems. They apparantly have never heard of the term 'Reasonable Adjustment', even when disabled patients need help to speak to a named person for continuity of treatment. Nope, call at 8am. Wait in the queue. But what if due to illness, you cannot call at 8am? TOUGH, go away and die, or speak to someone who cannot, maybe even does not want to help!. It would be nice if they would give you time to talk. But, hey no!!! Help/assist you, NO WAY. Worst practice I have ever been forced to remain at. Forced, due to the fact that they appear to have a tacit agreement with other practices in Braintree to not sign up patients already registered with a practice here. The patter runs when speaking to a different practice "Are you registered with a practice in Braintree?" Answer "Yes". Their reply "Oh sorry we arent taking new patients at the moment". On the other hand if you call any of the practices and answer "No" to the question about being registered with a Braintree practice", the surgeries then say "Oh well we are accepting new patients". Appalling behaviour from staff at Blandford. Are there any better practices in Braintree? Probably not, from what I hear.
