We spent a couple of hours walking in the forest. Paths head in all directions, providing short walks or something more challenging if required. Great for walking or cycling, the whole area is almost level with good gravel paths. That said, there are muddy spots following inclement weather, so appropriate shoes may be required. Visiting in April, Bluebells give good ground cover across the forest. The restaurant, bar and café provide a great range of tasty treats at reasonable prices in an indoor or outdoor setting.

Situated a short drive off the a33, between Winchester and Basingstoke, Blackwood Forest is a lovely hidden gem. There are multiple walks of different lengths easily followed, a very interesting house in the middle, and various exercise machines to interact with. Lots of wildlife too. When we have taken children, they enjoyed making dens and playing on the fallen trees. Then, the cafe at the end if friendly, fun and full of delicious cake and coffee. We like going regularly.

Lovely forest with lots of walks to explore. It is a holiday park, first and foremost with 60 cabins in the woods. Therefore, the cafe is closed to the public on their changeover days, Monday and Friday, between 1pm & 5pm so they can check in their guests. At the weekends, it gets extremely busy and the poor team do their best to serve everyone quickly and efficiently at such a hectic time. They do a great job. They have a friendly, helpful team. Dog friendly cafe too. Not sure I agree with having wet dogs in a cafe around food though.
