Been frequenting this restaurant for years. My experience of the food this week was appalling. It all seems to be produce using ready made ingredients, just put together and heated. No skill or cooking required. Served in what my partner described as "dog bowls" The vegetables for the main, consisted of 2 tiny tiny carrots, 2 tiny baby potatoes, a teaspoon of broccoli. hidden under a tough chicken fillet. The tomato sauce, seemed to be a jar bought one, with cream stirred into it, heated up and poured into the bowl. The sweets were not worthy of eating. The crumble/custard was mushed and cold. The so called cheesecake was like no cheesecake I ever have eaten or seen. Like a yellow moist sponge without any taste, with a bit of gooey jam spread on the top. The service was efficient and timely. Paid the bill and noticed a 10% service charge had been added. THIS IS NEW, NEVER HAD THIS, IN THIS RESTAURANT BEFORE. I was told it is under new management, but I refused to pay it. A "French" meal/experience it was NOT. The music was loud and annoying, more like a slow rap with a heavy beat !! Shame as it was ONCE a pleasure to visit and a joy to eat here. Overall, doubt we will return in a hurry.
