FAQ

What is the teacher-to-student ratio in your Montessori classrooms?

At Bisley Montessori Nursery School, we maintain a low teacher-to-student ratio to ensure that each child receives individual attention and guidance. Our ratio is typically one teacher for every ten students, although this may vary depending on the age of the children.

How do you incorporate technology into your Montessori curriculum?

While we believe in the importance of hands-on learning and exploration, we do incorporate technology into our Montessori curriculum in age-appropriate ways. For example, we may use tablets or computers for research or to enhance certain lessons. However, we place a strong emphasis on limiting screen time and maintaining a balance between technology and other learning experiences.

Do you offer any after-school programs or extracurricular activities for students?

Yes, we offer a variety of after-school programs and extracurricular activities for our students. These may include music lessons, sports clubs, and art classes, among others. We believe that these opportunities help enrich our students' learning experiences and foster their interests and talents.

How do you assess student progress and provide feedback to parents?

We use a variety of assessment methods to monitor our students' progress, including observation, student work, and standardized testing. We also provide regular feedback to parents through parent-teacher conferences and written progress reports. We believe that open communication and collaboration between parents and teachers is essential for our students' success.

What is your approach to discipline and classroom management in the Montessori environment?

In the Montessori environment, we believe in fostering self-discipline and responsibility in our students. We create a structured and supportive classroom environment that encourages independence and respect for oneself and others. We also use age-appropriate natural consequences and positive reinforcement to guide our students' behavior. We prioritize positive communication and conflict resolution as important skills for our students to develop.

Both of our children have been to Bisley Montessori Nursery School and we have been extremely pleased with their development whilst there. Becky and her team do a fantastic job with the children each day and the new location has provided the children with some great new experiences. The staff are friendly and supportive to the children and our children's key worker Susan has been outstanding with both of them. We'll be sad to say goodbye to the nursery in the summer as it is clear that the school is going to keep improving further in their new setting and we'd have loved to see what they do next!

I hunted low and high to find a nice reasonably priced nursery school to send my little boy to. others were so expensive I even contemplated not sending him, then I came across Bisley Montessori Nursery... I was so nervous about leaving him that first day but I really didn't need to worry. Since that day almost 2 years ago, I've seen an amazing improvement in him, with his speech development as well as his confidence and now independence. It's all largely thanks to the Montessori way of teaching/learning and the continued support from the teachers who went out of their way to help us both. Since moving to the new location and the new staff acquired, I've seen even more of a positive change in him and everyone really. The setting is fabulous, hidden safely behind a gated entry with horses in the paddocks, a huge outdoor play area and access to so many different toys, books, arts and crafts equipment. Its fantastic! my son adores his nursery and i'm going to be so so sad when he has to leave so thought i'd leave a little message before he goes, to just say thank you to all the staff really and hope that other mums and dads choose Bisley as their child's nursery! You won't be disappointed!! :)

Both my boys have attended Bisley Montessori and I would thoroughly recommend the nursery. The staff are lovely and most of them have been at the nursery for a long time. The new nursery location is fantastic. There is so much lovely outdoor space and my son comes home almost every day with muddy waterproofs - a true sign of a fantastic day at pre school!!!!! As well as all the lovely activities and playtime the nursery teachers facilitate, a variety of external teachers visit the nursery weekly to offer extra classes in PE, Dance and French. My son loves all these classes and it is fantastic that he can engage in this wide range of activities within the school day. The nursery staff are great at supporting the children to be independent which really helps facilitate a smooth transition to primary school. We will miss the nursery when my son leaves in July (to move up to primary school), however we will definitely be back in a few years once my daughter is old enough to attend.

After putting my child into another nursery and infant school I can now see how terrible this playschool are. Most of the staff are bullies I had to fight against to get my daughter diagnosed with autism. My daughter absolutely hated coming here and most days would beg me not to go. I felt like I was in a constant fighting battle with them. There is no support. I would not put my child back here even if you paid me to. My 3 year old has moved to a new local playschool for 2 weeks now and the difference in her is amazing. Since writing this review. The Nursery, instead of discussing my concerns with me, have sent me a letter threatening legal action against my negative review. I stand by my initial comments and believe anyone else considering Bisley nursery should be wary before submitting their children into their care.
