Cannot praise the hospital enough! Thank you all!! Thank you to the delivery suite midwives (specific mentioned below) floor 3 ward 5 staff and others! I gave birth two weeks ago at 36 weeks gestation. I called triage and she was very understanding on the phone and told me to come in and bring my hospital bags just in case as I was experiencing regular pains. As soon as I stepped into the doors of the hospital, I struggled to walk and had to stop and bend down a little and a woman asked if I needed help. Then the receptionist noticed straight away and called someone to get me a wheel chair and took me through the back routes to triage, I don't like attention so I appreciate that a lot! The man who took me to triage was also extremely kind and helpful and told me to breathe in and out and then wished me luck. They called me in within minutes and the midwife that checked me there was extremely kind and understanding and I felt so comfortable and welcome despite being in so much pain. I cannot remember her name but she had short blonde hair, shaved at the sides. Then the doctor came in who was really nice too and checked how dialated I was. I had risk factors so they really took care. I was 3cm dialated and they said because I was in labour at 36 weeks they will call it established labour and took me to the delivery suite. The first midwife that was there was kind. Then the second was so comforting and kind too and she really helped. Her kind tone and smiles and good attitude helped me so much. Her name is Polly and she was absolutely amazing!!! Then when her shift ended, another midwife and a student midwife came in and the student was also amazing! (Date was 20/04 evening time). They were at the end stages of my labour and after the delivery of my baby, she took really good care of me and have me everything I needed! Then they took me up to the transitional unit and I must say they all took care of me sooo well. I cannot even complain about any midwife. They were all so amazing. They provided me with everything I needed, including items to breast feed and formula as I was combining. The NHS is absolutely amazing and they provide sooo much. Made me so appreciative. They definitely deserve a payrise! A midwife or health visitor named Sam was on a night routine and he communicated sooo well. It was my second night there and I was so sleep deprived and he took care of my baby throughout the night, he even offered and bought him back with full communication of how he was in the night! Jenny was also amazing and deserves praise. There are so many midwives that do and I unfortunately don't remember their names. The 3rd floor ward 5 it was and I sincerely thank you all!!! I couldn't have felt more comfortable during my stay, although I do wish the beds were better but that is no one's fault 🤣 My baby spent 1 night in the NICU at bumble bee and the pediatrician (cannot remember her name, she was an Asian lady working the night of 20th April) who was there during the delivery of my baby was also amazing and kind and looked after my baby so well! Marion also deserves praise, she was amazing when I transferred to this hospital and gave me everything I needed. She took care of me and even did extra for me! I felt special and well looked after. A big thank you for Birmingham women's hospital and a big thank you for accepting my transfer when I didn't have any risk factors at the time until they looked into me properly. Reading the negative reviews and there are claims of racism but as a Pakistani Muslim lady, I didn't feel that at all but I felt special and well looked after so thank you

Came to triage yesterday due to some issues with heart rate and blood pressure,I ended up staying the night for monitoring the staff are lovely, they answered all my questions and took time to reassure me and make sure me and baby boy was doing well, cannot fault the hard working staff! Would 100% recommend to anyone who’s pregnant and looking for a reliable hospital, I’ve never had any issues :)
