Went to Birmingham Physiotherapy for my elbow pain. Mike Garmston made me pay for around 5 sessions which did absolutely nothing. Two of the sessions he injected corticosteroid into my tendon. In the other sessions he made me lie down with electrodes on my arm for 20/30 mins a session which did absolutely nothing. Mike Garmston asked me to attend further sessions which I refused. I instead went to renowned physiotherapist who is also a senior researcher in a university, informed me that the use of corticosteroids and electrode therapy is useless in bicep tendinopathy. Moreover, the use of corticosteroids has risks of damaging the tendon. This senior physiotherapist fixed my elbow pain by making me do eccentric loading exercises which fixed my longstanding elbow pain within weeks. Overall, I do not recommend wasting your money with this conman. Regards

A first class, personal & professional physiotherapy service. Mike and the team are really pleasant and helpful, the practice is clean and comfortable with on site parking which is a real boon in Birmingham. I've been treated by Mike for accident rehabilitation and for sports injury at different times with great results. I'll definitely be back if I need any other treatment in the future as I know the problem will get fixed.

Experienced, professional and evidence based physiotherapy. Kind, lovely and welcoming staff. From both my patient perspective and as a health professional ,Mike (lead physiotherapist) is receptive to you as a human being, your pain, injuries and provides numerous treatments which help! My family and I have been coming to this physiotherapy service since 2017 and since Covid started I feel safe as the rooms are cleaned before and after your appointment, Cleaning staff are visible . Thank you all!

Appalling COVID awareness - no masks, gloves, aprons or cleaning the plinths (beds) down. As an NHS professional myself, I would not recommend this practice during the current pandemic and they are not following Chartered Society of Physiotherapists recommendations for PPE. I asked them to wear PPE twice, and they remembered for the next session, then stopped wearing it again. The Lead Physio actually told me that they had all had COVID so didn't need to wear masks - it's about keeping patients safe too, not just them!! When lying on the plinth with my head through the hole, they didn't wipe it before or after. I was just pleased that I had a mask covering my face whilst lying with my face through the hole. In terms of their practice, they left me on electrotherapy machines for 20 minutes each session whilst then going to see another patient, so not really much interaction.
