We were looking to buy our first home and we had a suspicion that the remains of a garage ceiling was asbestos insulating board (AIB). We couldn't be sure because the sellers had recently put a new flat roof on and ripped down the ceiling. At first we thought it couldn't be Asbestos, because a professional company had re-roofed it, the owners had removed the plastered ceiling and told us it wasn't Asbestos. Thankfully, we contacted James at SPA Asbestos and he went to test the material and then sent the sample to an approved laboratory. The ceiling was indeed Asbestos and we are very thankful that James with 13 years experience was able to help prevent further contamination and prevent us entering a dangerous environment. Asbestos should be taken seriously whatever type, colour or quantity, it is ALL dangerous! I still hear people say 'that type of asbestos isn't as bad' but they can all cause cancer, mesothelioma or asbestosis. Do not risk your health or the health of others until you know for sure what material you are working with, call James.
