As always good service in a rather noisy surrounding! What was different this time was every single dish we ordered left a lot be desired. Seafood linguine was swimming in creamy sauce that reminded me of butter chicken sauce that you could scoop with a spoon! The "dirty" veggie burger was atrociously woody and bland. Same story with shawarma! I recommend the chef visits a random shawarma truck and try to get some idea of taste and meat needs to stay moist and juicy! Whereas I was a fan of their sea bass and their play on curry with quinoa, their current menu left me thoroughly disappointed! Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie options.

In Cambridge for a weekend break, and we decided to book a table at Bill's as the Norwich one is always a good choice when out shopping. Feel the menu has shrunk and less choice if you have food intolerances. Limited menu if you can't have dairy. Food and service would have been a rated a bit more, but they got my order wrong so ended up paying a bit more to get the extras I ordered. Didn't want cheese on my burger but got it anyway. Didn't get the bacon I ordered or slaw so had to wait for it to turn up (halfway through the meal). Then charged for the bacon, cheese and slaw. At least we tried Bills of Cambridge but doubt I'll do it again. The staff could seem to be a little bit happier, but we tipped them on top of the already applied service charge and didn't make a fuss. On the upside, enjoyed the cocktails which are always a good choice on a hot day.

There were 7 in our party and all of us had good food that was served hot and without complaint. The serving staff were particularly pleasant, friendly and switched on.

Very underwhelmed. My friend eats at Bills in her town every 2 weeks or so and raves about it so I tried it for lunch on a shopping day out in Cambridge. Ordered a mojito as I wanted a long drink. After 15 mins I was told they were out of stock, but no alternative was offered and the waiter was entirely unconcerned about whether I even had a drink or not. Ordered a red wine. The water glass on the table was never filled although I saw other tables being given water. My food arrived 5 minutes before my wine. I had a lamb chimmichurri burger with fries. They arrived on a small metal dish with a sheet of paper under the burger and the fries in a narrow pot. The burger was sitting in a puddle of oil so was very messy to hold and the bottom bun was very oily. It was tasty but not much lamb or chimmichurri flavour. Fries were average. Very chain-restaurant - a safe but somewhat dull choice if you’re going with a group that isn’t very adventurous with food or drink.

Lovely food and great service at the Cambridge restaurant. The food and drinks are a little on the pricey side, especially the Hedgerow Fizz (wifes favourite), where you don't get much for your money. We generally save visiting Bill's for a decent date night or special occasion.
