If you are stuck very quick, but they charge more for Brompton repairs than the actual Brompton junction? Why? Also, they are seriously grumpy.

I don't normally write reviews but I feel I should on this occasion. I brought my bike to the shop because my gears had broken. When looking at the conditions of my bike the staff suggested a whole service, changing various parts, which would be very expensive and above my budget. I said I couldn't afford to do all the extras at that point in time but when I went to collect the bike, they had done a lot of extra work anyway and, of course, charged me accordingly. I got the very distinct impression that they pretended not to understand my precise instructions to simply fix the gears for this time. In addition, the work they had done was really sub-standard. The gears literally didn't work AT ALL. When I got home I realised that the cables had been threaded incorrectly and I ended up having to take them apart and re-doing the work myself. The break pads were not pinned in place and I lost two in the subsequent weeks.

I took my bike in for a new chain and the mechanic quoted me >£100 for a full service then extra for any parts. This felt extremely expensive to me but I needed my bike working ASAP so I agreed. It ended up costing £150 (with only a new chain and new brake pads for parts). My back brake was rubbing immediately after the service so I took it back in to be fixed which he supposedly did, but it actually wasn’t fixed at all. It has been a month and my chain is already rusty and my gears are no longer working correctly. I felt that this was extremely poor value for money and would not recommend this place at all.

Unfortunately a pretty poor experience. Expensive. Priced me for fixes that I didn’t ask for, and my tire popped again after 3 days because they put the wrong sized tube in. Won’t be returning

High prices, poor service. I got my cassette/chaine changed there for more than 100£ and it broke 2 months after... They just put on very cheap and low quality stuff, from unknown manufacturer. Avoid if you can!!
