Can't really say a bad word about this absolute beast of a woodie as for me it is just immersed in nostalgia and fills me with so many happy memories as well. It needs a bit more track work on the turnaround section and perhaps a few more little bits on the second drop yet it looks like this could already be underway now, for closed season, ahead of the Big Dipper's Centenary Year.

Painful rollercoaster, but still a bit fun. I do not reccomend this coaster for very heavy people or people who can get bruises etc... often. This is not a rollercoaster for the best thrills, but it is more for the "I rode a nearly 100 year old rollercoaster" credit. Waiting time was fair enough, for me only 5 - 10 minutes

Loved it.... Might not have been the best choice for my 6 year old sons's first ever roller-coaster though. He completely freaked out and cried afterwards when he finally realised he had survived it.

This wooden rollercoaster is like100 years old and it's still a very good ride. I always come off with a few bruises but it's worth it lol

It's a traditional rickety wooden structured roller coaster, still a decent ride after all these years, part of the enjoyment is derived from the coaster not being a smooth as some modern ones, and is quite bumpy. My mum is old enough to remember when back in her day, the Big Dipper originally had no waist belt to keep you in, only the handle bar, I bet that would have been both scary and enjoyable in equal measure. Shame Blackpool tore down the mouse rollercoaster, that was a blast. I thought it was protected by heritage or something.
