My wife has had to visit the Bickerstaff Endoscopy Unit 3 times over recent months. (January 2023 being the latest) The unit seems very efficient and supportive of patients and carers. The unit is at present 'somewhat blocked in' as the small car park by the unit is partly taken up by two storey portakabins. The temporary main entrance to the main hospital is to the left of the Bickerstaff Unit. As you enter the door to the Bickerstaff Unit there is a lift on your left and a series of four flights of stairs. My wife is disabled at present so we used the lift. Be aware that despite have a control panel for multiple floors the lift can only go up one level ( Press 1) and back down ( Press 0 ). A short corridor to the left takes you through double doors and the reception desk on the right hand side corner behind a large plastic screen. Visitors , at present , have to fill in forms ( 1 for Covid and 1 for the procedure - be aware you may need a list of any medication & dose strength you are on) . A set of 4 rows of chairs are positioned in the waiting room with a disabled toilet opposite the reception desk .
