What a blessing: Great Bardfield may be just a wee North Essex village, but we have a bookshop! And what a lovely bookshop it is. My visit was near closing time so I was worried that I was inconveniencing them; I needn't have worried, Jenny made me so welcome. We chatted about books we loved and village history for ages. What a treat, I'm hoping to become a regular.

Current opening hours 10am to 3pm every day. No coffee or cakes I'm afraid but still selling books, cards, stationery etc, 1 person at a time in the shop. During lockdown (Nov - Dec 2020) please order books etc by phone and we will arrange payment with you, and a time to collect.
