FAQ

What qualifications do your instructors have, and what kind of experience do they have in rock climbing?

Our instructors are all certified by the Mountain Training Association and have extensive experience in rock climbing. Many of them have been climbing for years and have climbed all over the world, so they are well-equipped to teach and guide climbers of all levels.

Do you provide equipment, or do customers have to bring their own?

We provide all necessary equipment for our courses and sessions, including harnesses, ropes, and helmets. However, if you prefer to use your own equipment or have specific gear that you would like to bring, you are more than welcome to do so.

What beginner-level courses do you offer, and how long do they generally last?

We offer a range of beginner-level courses, including Introduction to Rock Climbing and Learn to Lead. The length of the courses varies, but they generally last between one and three days. We also offer private lessons for those who prefer one-on-one instruction.

What is the instructor-to-student ratio during a typical course or session?

We maintain a low instructor-to-student ratio to ensure that each participant receives personalized attention and instruction. For beginner-level courses, the ratio is typically one instructor for every four to six students.

What kind of safety measures do you have in place during climbs, and what is your emergency protocol?

Safety is our top priority, and we have strict protocols in place to ensure that our climbers are protected at all times. We use only high-quality equipment that is regularly inspected and maintained, and our instructors are trained in emergency response and first aid. In the event of an emergency, we have a comprehensive protocol in place to ensure a swift and effective response.

Climbing and abseiling was something I was previously too scared to do. But with the support and patience of our instructor, Chris, I managed to achieve it. It was amazing!

Chis is an amazing instructor, I had a session with him going over abseil set ups and how to do it. He was so incredibly knowledgeable and is so reassuring, throughout it he made sure that I was happy with everything and left chance for questions. It was invaluable and I would nightly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon climbing and abseiling with instructors Chris & Matt. We had a range of zero to some experience within our group, and this wasn't an issue. They taught us the basics and encouraged us all the way, so that we each got the most of the experience. The added bonus was the DSLR photos that they took, while we were busy clinging onto the rock face! And they truly care about the environment, removing other people's rubbish from the area at the end of our day. We wish Chris & Matt the best of luck with their business - they know their stuff and are great guys to spend time with. If you're in any doubt, just book it!

We were part of a birthday party that visited Better off Adventures and my son had no previous climbing knowledge at all. Chris was brilliant with the kids, supporting them and getting the best of their ability, it was relaxed but professional. My son had the best time and we will definitely visit again 😁 Helen

Had a really good time doing the climbing and abseiling. Chris and Matt were very knowledgeable but also created a relaxed environment. The rock climbing and abseiling were good for beginners but it was definitely a challenge and I felt like I had achieved something! It was a lovely place and the experience was great value for money, would recommend :)
