We had 2 major changes to our new home. Firstly, a garage conversion. It was completed so quickly and with professionalism at all times. I appreciated Ben project managing everything for me as I had never had any building work done before. Shortly after this we restructured the kitchen and dining room into an open plan space and refitted the utility room to match. Better Living Builders recently designed and completed the conversion of my integral garage into sitting area with on suite wet room. The project was to convert my existing integral garage into a sitting room with adjacent wet room, fitted with shower, toilet and wash basin. The sitting area was to have a window and outside entrance door with ramp access. The entire area including the wet room was required to be wheelchair accessible under the current regulations. I had an initial project meeting with Ben Livingstone and Gary Martin to discuss my overall conceptual requirements and to evolve a practical design and implementation plan of building works. I received the initial costed proposal detailing work, materials and time scale a week later. This was accepted and work started 4 weeks later. The project overall was handled very well, from the obtaining of necessary building control permissions, the availability of labour and the delivery of materials required as works progressed. Ben as project manager met with me nearly every day to keep me advised of progress, issues and to discuss options of material finishes available so these would be delivered in a timely manner to keep the project on schedule. I am very pleased with the way the works were carried out, the overall standard of work and finish of the conversion. Probably the most challenging element of this project was connecting the waste water drainage from the wet room at the front of the house to the mains swear which is at the back of the house. The solution was very neat and efficiently implemented. Yes I would recommend Better Living Builders and would use them again for any future building works on my house.
