Have used Best at Travel before to travel to a four star Caribbean hotel. Was given good service and advice. However, on travelling to Italy, also to a four star hotel, recently advice by adviser was at best ambiguous and brief was not followed. Would I use them again? No.

Really confused by the positive reviews. Bizarre practices. We were quoted an online price for flights and an all inclusive stay at our chosen hotel in Mauritius. We then spoke to the agent on the phone just to confirm. She then sent through a written confirmation of details, itinerary, price and dates - all matched the web price so all good...or so we thought. We agreed to go ahead with quote. We were then asked to put down an £800 deposit to secure it. We did it there and then. Then we get an email saying the agent would check with the hotel? Not sure what the written quote was for then or the deposit to secure it is all about? Bizarre. Next thing we get a call saying the hotel was full and had we thought about another one. We had actually been in touch with the hotel as part of our research before contacting best at travel so we knew it had lots of availability for the standard room we had asked for. However, just to make sure, we contacted the hotel again following the call from the agent telling us they were full. Again, the hotel told us there absolutely WAS room availability for the type we had asked for, on the dates we had asked for. I can only assume this is a scam where either a) they get deposits in an unscrupulous way from customers to earn interest in their bank account, or b) artificially lower quotes to prices they cant actually deliver in order to reel customers in and then try and upsell them or get them to pay for other hotels they have partnerships with but whom customers have no interest in. It's easy to book direct with the hotel and airlines these days. The reason for approaching travel agents like best at travel is for favourable rates they can secure or discounts. As things stand, this has been a complete waste of our time. We have put in a complaint, not a great experience. We had high hopes after reading all the positive reviews. A real shame. I cannot understand how you can send a quote that you cant actually deliver and take a deposit, then tell the customer the hotel is full when in fact it isn't.

We booked a holiday to Meedhupparu Maldives with Luke . We wanted to postpone for 12months due to pandemic and didn't want to endure the stress of PCR testing Luke was very straightforward to deal with and answered any queries or concerns .
