I came across Bespoke Biking CIC purely by chance on a walk through Winchester on 4th April. The idea of a not-for-profit social enterprise refurbishing donated bicycles for community benefit appealed, so I wanted to support them. An early 1980s racer in their stock caught my attention. Whilst it hadn't been my intention to buy anything, an easy conversation with Louie, the workshop manager, convinced me it must come home with me along with a promise that I'd return with two bikes I had in storage as donations. The racer had obviously been loved for decades and then been generously donated. I'm thrilled with it! Plus it feels great being able to help Louie and his colleagues continue their social enterprise by donating more bikes into their care. I'm now a fan!

I've made two visits to Winchester during which I rented bicycles from this store. They are excellent people to work with, immensely helpful, and they made it quite easy to rent a bike to ride. I will return and do it again. Hampshire is a wonderful place to ride.

Have taken two bikes in for a tune up this week, one that clearly needed a lot of work, the other I thought was “okay” but a tune-up wouldn’t hurt. Conclusion: Brilliant service and both bikes are now perfect. Highly recommended - I will definitely be back!

Really hate to write a bad review about anyone.. I bought a second hand bike from these guys last year and put the bike away for the winter. When I started riding it this year it just wasn't right. So I took it to my local bike shop for a look. A very reputable bike shop. They wrote me a report and essentially there were some major issues. 1. The gear change for 11 gears, but there were only 10 cogs in the set on the rear. So it was never going to work properly. Because of this there was damage to the dralier. 2. The crank was lose and missing washers. Anyway. The cost of repair was £175. And I decided to have reputable local bike shop repair. A. It was closer. B. II really trust these guys. My local bike shop emailed me and sent pictures and a video of the issues. Which I then passed on to bespoke bikes. This was clearly something done by bespoke bikes. I contacted bespoke bikes. Not sure of what I was after. But at least a little compensation or at least a little taking of responsibility. But the answer was "if you buy another bike from us, maybe we can discuss a discount". Question is... why would I ever consider purchasing another bike from these guys?. A real shame, as a nice coffee shop.. sadly, I'd never go back there again.. It's not the actual fact that the bike clearly was a bit of a bodge, or really even the money I paid. It was the general "computer says no" attitude when the problem was reported.. Really a shame.
