Went for MRI today and I had a very positive experience. I was very very scared and just before starting, I said I can’t do it. But the radiologist(sorry if the designation is not right) Caroline (again sorry if I don’t spell it right) made me so very comfortable and took Time to convince me and make me do it, I honestly wouldn’t have done if it was not for her., thank you so much Caroline., Team-please pass on my special thanks and a big hug to her.,

Wasn't there long enough to really comment. Building looked old and unkept from the outside but was sufficiently hospitalish inside. The doctor/nurse who went through my pre-op analysis was a legend though. Said she was from Canada, can't remember her name but very good with people obviously.

I attended the Berkshire hospital yesterday for a procedure which I was dreading. The hospital were amazing! I had been referred here by the NHS and from the moment I walked in to the time I left I was treated with suck kindness. The doctor was so lovely and friendly, explaining everything he was about to do and all the way along. The nurses had super big smiles on their faces and made me laugh and relax. They treated me with such kindness as they could see I was nervous. In recovery, the nurse looked after me so well again with such kindness and nothing seemed to be a problem. A lovely cup of tea made and custard creams given before I could go home. They were a credit to the hospital. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone who needs anything doing.

I had a carpal tunnel release as an NHS patient, having been offered this hospital as an option, based on good reviews. Mr Shafighian was the surgeon. Everything was brilliant! My initial appointment, pre-op appointment and admission as a day case for surgery under local anaesthetic went to plan and I was very well treated. The nursing and reception staff were friendly and welcoming, the explanations were clear and the surgeon was charming, gave all the information I needed and performed an excellent operation with a great result. The cleanliness and efficiency were impressive and it’s clear that this is a happy and positive workplace.

UPDATING: Finally had the surgery. The staff I saw were wonderful and much more reassuring after what I went through on the first visit. I've put it to 5 despite what happened with that nurse and the rigmaroll as the one who helped me during before and after was so reassuring and lovely, that it helped a lot of the fear I had had. -------------------- I've lost faith in this place. I was told everything was go for my surgery, had the COVID test, blood tests, everything. Was reassured the whole way that nothing would stop the surgery I'd been fighting for for years. I had a very unpleasant experience for the final tests that I won't go into because I know they're over worked and doing their best so I know it's not their fault, but long story short, despite doing my best to lose weight, even after catching COVID in January and containing my diet since, and my weight not going down as it should (which I raised) I was told it can't be done. I now need to go back to my GP, who has been dragging me around for three years, fight to get another referral. Have to go through the entire humiliating process again. Fight for the right to the surgery that's hard enough to get at my age because "what about children" Because I'm fat and I have asthma. I know that's my fault but I've been trying. And to get so far, reassured countries times that nothing will get in the way NOT EVEN THE ASTHMA OR WEIGHT,to finally be able to get ready for the surgery to fix a major issue, only to be turned down, has utterly destroyed me.

This place is an utter embarrassment to the medical profession. I was referred to them by the NHS went through an initial consultation and blood test. This was followed up by an ultrasound, in which, the operator rocked up late didn’t even spend 5 minutes looking before saying, “I can’t find anything” and leaving me to mop up with just the nurse present. I was not even surprised they didn’t find anything as the NHS had done a more fully comprehensive scan of all major parts and found nothing months earlier too. Waste of my time! About 2 months later I went in for a camera down the throat which was done well but I took a further 2 months of chasing them to get an answer of the results. Now with the results all negative and me having to chase them to see what happens next, I’ve been told, “I don’t know what it is. All the results and blood tests show nothing. You’ll just have to live with it.” Jokers! I’ve been, and still am, suffering with my condition for over 16 months now and no one can tell me what it is or what is causing it. To top it off these charlatans will probably hand the NHS a colossal bill for the poor service they have provided me. I just want someone to tell me what I have. Not give up because it’s too difficult for them to find out. If you can, avoid using this hospital. I’m not impressed with my service. It's back to my GP and back to the back of the queue for me. Thanks for nothing!

First interaction waiting to be seen for preop assessment. Over an hours wait without being told anything. NHS referrals appear not to be treated with care. An opinion on my part.
