FAQ
What specific services and resources does your association provide for veterans and their families?
We are actually an Army Cadet unit, which is a youth organization sponsored by the British Army. We provide training and activities for young people aged 12-18 years old who are interested in learning more about the military and developing skills such as leadership, teamwork, and discipline. While we do not specifically provide services for veterans and their families, we do offer opportunities for them to get involved through volunteering and supporting our unit. Can you provide information on the membership process and any associated fees?
Our membership process involves attending an open evening or parade night to learn more about our unit and fill out an application form. There are no fees associated with membership as our unit is fully funded by the Ministry of Defence. However, members may need to pay for some personal equipment such as boots or uniform items. How does your association advocate for and support current and former members of the Armed Forces?
As an Army Cadet unit, our focus is on providing training and opportunities for young people. However, we do support current and former members of the Armed Forces through events such as Remembrance Day parades and by participating in fundraising efforts for military charities. Are there any limitations on who can join your association (e.g. specific branches of the military)?
Our unit is open to young people aged 12-18 years old from any background or ability level. While we are sponsored by the British Army, we do not require our members to have any affiliation with the military or specific branches. What types of events and community outreach programs does your association offer for its members and the wider veteran community?
We offer a variety of events and activities for our members, such as fieldcraft training, sports competitions, and adventure training. We also participate in community outreach programs such as litter picking and supporting local events. While we do not specifically offer events for the wider veteran community, we do encourage veterans and their families to get involved with our unit as volunteers.Reviews

Army cadets at Berko is amazing. It gives me something to do on Monday and Wednesday evenings and I've learnt valuable life skills along the way, such as first aid and navigation. It's been incredible and the staff live up to this.
