The one star was for the impressive immediate response for assessment following the recommendation of Northwood Nursing by a local District Nurse. Also for the mutual agreement to cease engagement after one week instead of the mandatory two weeks' notice. However, sadly I cannot recommend this company for home care, chiefly because of its extortionate prices [more than double the rate of the local Northwood company we subsequently engaged], its extra charges for mileage and accessories used, its shoddy accounts with no breakdown [see our only bill attached with address removed], and its practice of rounding up time worked to the next hour. Although I understand the well-reputed Northwood Nursing has been taken over by Berkeley Home Care a year ago, carers still wear Northwood Nursing uniforms, and upon visiting in September the exterior of the Northwood office presented an unprofessional appearance. Sadly in our case, no further care services are needed - my father's funeral was last week.

We have been using Northwood Nursing to provide live in care for my mother for the last 6 months, following seizures which left her with difficult mobility. Northwood Nursing were very knowledgeable in checking the house for problem areas in respect of my mum's mobility. They use their sister company to provide the carer, and they provide a replacement carer during holiday period. A thorough care plan is written and they also provide monthly medicine charts if required. Having a live in carer has brought so much to my mums recovery. Personal care, mobility help and encouragement to regain some independence, help with small household tasks, companionship. All in all mum is recovering well because of this one to one attention.

I first heard about this Company when I was at a local hospital to see my Orthopedic Consultant. I have been using them for assistance for nearly 10 years, since my daughter first went away to University. I use them when my husband is away or has needed to go to work early, due to his job. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, even when my husband's employers keep changing their minds or drop things on us at the last minute. This also means that they have to be flexible, which they are. My care plan is reviewed regularly to ensure that if my needs have changed, then any process changes are also picked up.

Have two carers for my wife so I can go out for lunch with friends, both are excellent and get on well with my wife. Northwood Nursing were good in introducing carers to see if my wife got on with them and they with her. They are very professional in seeing your home before sending a carer. The carers write reports on their visit in great detail, even recording my phone call to see that everything is alright.
