We really enjoyed our half day pottery course. Lee is a friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic teacher. The class is conducted in a relaxed manner, with small numbers so that each stage is repeated and everyone is attended to. By the end of this short course you will be able to centre the clay on the wheel, draw it up and create a bowl all by yourself. You will have a great sense of achievement. Thoroughly recommend.

My partner and I have just got back after participating in a 4 hour course will Lee. It was absolutely brilliant. As the courses only have 4 people you get a lot of Lee’s time. The way Lee teaches is brilliant and very laid back and informative. Working the clay is mesmerising as well. I managed to turn out a “passable” bowl after my class, they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder! The point is that I didn’t even think that I would get the clay to stay on the wheel never mind actually produce something. In short, if you want to try and new skill, and maybe develop a new hobby I can recommend starting it with Lee and Bentham Pottery.

Ian and I loved our half day course, Lee was an excellent teacher he was patient with us and our arthritic fingers, but we both made bowls and mug and jug, looking forward to collecting them when they are glazed. It was very professional but lots of fun. We stayed in a super cottage at the farm a wonderful way to spend a couple of days and we may have been bitten by the throwing bug and would love to have another session. Can thoroughly recommend Bentham Pottery. back.

Had a terrific afternoon today being taught how to throw a pot! Actually managed to make a bowl nearly without help and I'm a complete beginner. Very well explained and encouraged to progress. Would definitely recommend this course.

We did a half day pottery course here and absolutely loved it! Lee was a superb tutor, really informative and supportive - highly recommended. The shop is great too, quite small but with a really nice range of pottery, from decorative items to practical kitchenware. Well worth a visit.
